Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I took off my console to fix broken e brake switch and noticed two unused wire connectors. One just under front and one towards back. I assume they are for options I don't have but would like to know for sure. Anybody know what these are?

POST 3Original post

Man, I had my console apart early spring but don't remember exactly were those go. IIRC, there is an electrical connection at the console lid lock area. I'm certain its not for heated seats.

POST 4Original post

I am almost certain that the connector in the first picture is for the cellular phone option that very few people purchased. (It’s a convenient source of power and ground for modifications such as an integrated garage door opener.) I am not certain about the second one. Could it be for the light in the ashtray? Many people replace the ashtray with a small bin called the non-smoker option. (That may not be the precise name.) If a previous owner swapped out the ashtray, they would have disconnected the light.

POST 5Original post

Yes, front one is for the phone option: http://986forum.com/forums/performance-technical-chat/78291-lower-centre-console-connector.html The other is security circuit for the console compartment latch: http://986forum.com/forums/performance-technical-chat/64320-mystery-connector-console.html
