Personally I think you are making a mistake, even Porsche salesmen strongly recommend keeping the Alcantara with or without the interior pack.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Folks, Have placed a deposit for a CGTS - but long way off before spec lock down - so plenty of time dithering on the Porsche configurator. I'am leaning towards the GTS interior package because that's what makes it different & probably what others might expect when I come to sell. I love the middle red dial, but really think the red GTS logo on the seat is naff. So, in a little bit of a dilemma. Just wondering what you guys & girls decided on? And whether the consensus is defo go for the GTS interior pack because it is a GTS. I'am probably going for Carrera White exterior.

POST 2Original post

Unfortunately I'm not in the position to be able to order a new Boxster GTS, but that's not stopped me from playing with the configurator and hoping someone will spec the car I want to pickup in a few years time I'm not a fan of the alcantara interior... for me it would be full leather with bucket seats and carbon trim. I do agree though, the red dials are a nice touch. Either way, I wouldn't both with the package, quite expensive for what it is, could specify buckets, or PTV and a few other nice extras.

POST 3Original post

I wanted and went for the full GTS interior, I love the red stitching on the dash you don't really notice the red rev counter as you're looking at the road and likewise the red GTS logo on the seats you don't notice that when you're in the car. I'm also carrera white with satin wheels.

POST 4Original post

GTS red interior all the way, If I was looking for a used one as the car is a GTS I would want the GTS interior pack.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the comments so far. Yep, as I said I am defo leaning towards GTS interior pack

POST 6Original post

GTS interior with silver stitching. Had the red in my GT3 and wasn't really a fan, prefer the silver.

POST 7Original post

Shows we are all different! I don't like alcantara, so opted for the full leather and my wife ticked the embossed Porsche crest on the seats. It still has alcantara on the roof lining which for me is the perfect place for it.

POST 8Original post

I picked up a demo GTS and therefor didn't pick mine. However I live mine, mine has the standard gts interior. So still full leather dash and alcanta ta everywhere else. Then the dealer specced extended leather (does not replace the alcantara) and full carbon package. It looks lovely and still have gts in the headrests just in black. If I was spec ing it again I wouldn't go for the gts interior. I would just have the standard interior and spec the carbon. Spend the grand saved on getting the buckets

POST 9Original post

Standard 911 interiors are extremely boring. All black with the standard chrome/alu trim, not even some contrast stitching on sight. Or even worse some have the horrid full beige or red interior, steering wheel included I have to say I'm ruling out the 911 on that basis (and boring exterior too) and will go Maserati Gransport or another Aston. GTS package lifts the interior up no end, I would definitely spec it. Would also go for the Porsche crest on the headrest rather than GTS, but it would probably cost an arm and a leg as it would be an "off menu" request.

POST 10Original post

Go for it, stunning. Mine: carmine red gts pack, full alcantara (standard) plus buckets. Love it.

POST 13Original post

I will be going for deletion of alcantara as not sure how it will wear over long period of time.

POST 14Original post

I had the Silver / White GTS interior pack with the buckets. As normal if you want any more pictures just ask.

I also have Carrara white and went for the standard GTS leather / Alacntara interior and chose the interior package painted combined with th centre console trim also in Carrara white. It brightens up the I terror a treat. I also chose the GTS exterior pack and partially painted gloss black Carrera S wheels. This create a harmonious theme of white exterior with gloss black accents paired with the interior which is black with gloss white accents. Picked the car up today and I'm thrilled with the results. GTS interior is ok, but I'm not personally keen on carbon, makes the interior very dark.photos taken at the dealership prior to the car been prepared.

Whether or not you choose the GTS Inteior pack I personally believe it is essential to keep the leather /Alcantara interior, choose the optional full leather and you turn the interior to a standard Boxster S, and you lose the GTSs character and exclusivity. Good luck with whatever you choose! Edited by dreamcar on Friday 6th March 18:05

Kind of agree about the carbon. Can you clear something up for me. if you go leather/alcantara I see can places like door etc is in alcantara & seats look leather. Are the seats fully leather or part leather/alcantara. Really like it.

You also lose a heap of the sporting character. For what it's worth I have Alcantara seat centres in my Skoda Octavia daily drive, 40k miles on and the Alcantara is indistinguishable from new, showing no wear at all.

Really like it. Seat centre panels on squab and back are Alcantara. Seat sides and bolsters are finished in "smooth finish leather" to quote Porsche. Headrests are leather with GTS embroidered in black thread. If you opt for the full leather interior you cannot have GTS on the headrests, which is Porsche's way of saying it is no longer a GTS themed interior.

I must admit I think I prefer this to the GTS interior pack - similar reasons - carbon makes the interior dark & still think the red GTS logo on the seats in naff IMO. It's a personal taste I know.

In the Octavia I just brush it lightly occasiionally and vacuum it with a 12v car vacuum. I've never cleaned it yet. I'm to,d with the Alcantara steering wheel rim I'm told if it goes flat with perspiration then water with lemon juice gently dabbed will recover it. With the Boxster the OPC threw in free Autoglym Lifeshine ( I wouldn't pay for it as I'm very sceptical about the so-called lifetime guarantee) which included a stain guard treatment for the interior trim.

POST 38Original post

Adam B said: lovely that, especially white GTS and stitching - that with the white painted door and dash bits would be my choice Porsche will do you white deviated stitching on door panels and dash, not sure about the headrests. Deviated stitching is very expensive, to do the stitching as per interior pack would cost in excess of £1k on its own. Not sure how white / silver the stitching would be over time with heads / hair resting on them though. FYI it's rhodium silver stitching, not white with the interior pack.

POST 39Original post

Well basically Andy's interior plus your white panels then
