Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Hi: Anybody noticed hissing noise from front midrange speakers after car and stereo are off? My stereo system has not been modified. Has the Bose speakers. The other day I turned everything off, and sat in the car, once more admiring it! and noticed a hissing noise from speakers, for a couple of minutes even after locking the car, and then faded. Is this something normal or should I be concerned? Thanks.

POST 2Original post

It is normal. Mine does exactly the same thing. After you remove the key from the ignition, the radio goes into a standby state that lasts about 5 minutes.

POST 4Original post

Mine's the same. I've never verified but it sounds like the radio is used for the chimes also. Key in the ignition, lights on etc. Maybe it's left in standby for this?

POST 5Original post

Never thought of that. Good point! timbucthree
