Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Passenger side headlight unit (cover or inside) is turning yellow. Is this known problem for Cayman? I have factory HID and nothing is done to the car man it's only been 1.5 years i took the car to the dealer in the morning and they say they couldn't find any problem on OTHER vehicle like cayman so they will not fix this problem under warranty.

POST 2Original post

That is total BS. If they found it on other cars it would be a recall by Porsche or at least a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin). That's exactly what the warranty is there for, to fix things such as this. Talk to the service manager, then keep going up if its not resolved. Not a known problem, just a warranty issue for your car.

POST 3Original post

That's exactly the wrong answer. If all cars exhibit it, they dealer could say "they all do it" and you'd be left to plead your case with PCNA. The fact that no other cars exhibit it shows it's a defect and thus should be covered by your warranty . If that doesn't work, try another dealer, and if that doesn't work, call PCNA.

Today I went to the other dealer for reparing headlight and this time they actually spot the difference but they were afraid that Porsche HQ might charge the dealer for repairing. huh? what the hell? So yadi yadi yada and the bottom line was No. Of course...ah~ the dealers they all look same outside but it's whole different world under one roof. One is being suck up and that's sales person and the other one is being stingy, the service department. The one thing that really confused me was that the service manager kindly gave me his thought; his philosophy. He actually said that and I was really shocked. I went there to fix my damn headlight and he was standing there and giving me his philosopy? Anyways he goes like "It's nobody's fault. Not yours, not ours and not Porsche's." When I heard him saying that I was laughing and told him that it was my fault that I bought the car here. He was thinking for a couple second and changed the subject. I will contact Porsche HQ (Billk, Thanks for your idea) and see what happens next.

A completely off the wall thought, but did you get a clear bra kit with the car? The kits come with headlight covers and it may be the film that is yellowing. Good luck on trying to get this fixed!

Be sure to let us know what happens. To my mind if they "all" do it then if you find one that doesn't ask why you can't have that one.
