Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

You need to get sensors that are compatible with the Porsche system (what frequency they are on, Porsche uses 433 or 315 MHz).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Folks, I need to buy an entire set for a 2007 997 S and I have come across a plethora of different vendors selling TPMS sensors that come either in black, blue, or orange. Which one should I buy? Porsche 911 Carrera - 2006-2008 - TPMS - OE Replacement Tire Pressure Sensors What is the expected life of these sensors and how does one reprogram them to the TPMS computer? Thanks!

POST 2Original post

The sensors last 4-6 years depending upon the environment they are in. You need to get sensors that are compatible with the Porsche system (what frequency they are on, Porsche uses 433 or 315 MHz). On a 997, it is done from the OBC, scroll down to tires, look for "set".

POST 3Original post

JFP, Can they use a mix of both on the same car? A set of 433 or 315 on any car?

POST 4Original post

The TPMS system is sufficiently annoying when everything matches that complicating the system seems counter productive. From what I read in the Porsche technical literature, the cars will accept either frequency, but I don't know what happens if three are on one and one is on the other. We have been using 433 MHz without problems, and they seem readily available.
