It appears Porsche do not supply any rear facing seats for the rear seats hence why I will have to use the passenger seat for the time being.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My eyes hurt from searching and reading the many posts on child seats in 911s, I'm looking for updated advice and any tips.
I have a 12 month old and a 991.2 on order, he will be more or less 15 months old when it arrives.
The law says rear facing up to 15 months, and I think a Group 1 seat, but some posts say keep them rear facing for longer.
Basically, he needs to be able to travel in the back seat behind his mother, is this realistically possible or am I deluding myself?
Any thoughts very welcome..
I have searched on this very subject as I have just ordered a GTS. I opted for the isofix option on the passenger seat as my 9 month old little boy needs a rear facing child seat until 15 months. It appears Porsche do not supply any rear facing seats for the rear seats hence why I will have to use the passenger seat for the time being. A quick google search reveals what the law says about child seat orientation - new laws it seems..
Yes, that's my understanding.
Just want to know if a forward facing seat can go in the back that's suitable for a 15 month old, as the car has folding buckets so front seat not an option.
This Porsche's G1 seat in my 991.2. I've used it occasionally for my 2 year old boy and I have to reinforce to him that this is a fun experience so that he forgets about the lack of legroom! My wife who's 5 foot 5 is fine in front.
Our maxi cosi cabriofix baby seat fits in very snugly rear facing and can be strapped in with the seatbelt. Unfortunately I can't physically get in the car then and I'm only 5 foot 11. Potentially my wife could drive us if I squeezed into the passenger seat but I think it'd be for emergencies only and we've never tried it.
I'm looking forward to the sweet spot when my 2 lads will be 6+ and just fit in with a small
Booster cushion to fit the requirements. It'll be nice to take them out to do all the things my wife hates, watch rugby, motor racing etc!

Why don't you put the baby seat behind the passenger (your wife's) seat? We've done that and it's fine, same heights as you.
I think the Cabriofix is only up to 1 year though, our 1 year old has grown out of it as his legs were too long.

The same problem then exists that I can't sit in front of the G1 seat. I can't remember the cut off with the cabriofix but having purchased 8 seats now it's difficult to be sure. Yeah, sometimes legs spill over!
Oh you have 2 kids, sorry didn't read properly!
That would be a very tight fit, a Group 1 car seat behind the passenger in the OP's case would be fine though.
Previoualy I have strapped a forward facing child seat onto the passenger seat in my 991.1 - although my son was 2 and half years old at the time. I was conscious of the 15 month thing and wasn’t prepared to take him out until he was a bit larger.
The reality is that yes a forward facing seat does fit in the rear but it’s cramped, the baby seat squashes / marks the leather and your child will watch to the kick the back of your lovely Porsche seats which I’m sure will make you want to put him / her in the boot.
In our daily driver Mercedes ML our children now 1 and 3 have always faced backwards for additional safety etc.
Whenever I take my son out in the Porsche it’s always naturally a very slow and steady affair anyway.
Car seats can be hard to install. Recently tried to install one, it didn't look good to me after I installed it. So I had to ask for help.
I went to the fire department near me and asked for help with the car seat. The did help me and showed me the correct way to install them and told to read a guide
how to
do it in future.
If you are I doubt, to be safe, just head to the nearest fire department and they will help

I would go for atleast 3 years old, well anytime after the terrible twos.
Sorry, I have nothing constructive to add to the conversation, I will get my 🧥.
Well, times up and I collect my T on Tuesday, with a very much appreciated gift of a Group 1 Porsche seat.
Taking my now 15 month old boy with me to collect, so I’m hoping he fits!
I have had both kids using the porsche car seat in back of my 991 with no issues. Yes a little tight but it’s not for long trips. For me it means i can have a sports car and still use to take kids to football etc. Now they are 7 and 5 I have the box type booster seats so they just jump in themselves.
I am looking to sell my porsche purchased car seat now as they have grown out of it if interested
After trying a few seats found the perfect one for my 991.1 - my 2 year old very happy and secure plus decent room for front passenger as well.
Britax Römer ADVANSAFIX IV M Group 1-2-3 (9-36KG)
Which booster cushions do you use for bigger kids (Age 6+ ?)
I have bought a couple of Mifold, but they dont work as well in real life as it says on the tin!

Thanks

PM me - would be interested in the details. Thanks
I bought the cheapest halfords booster type seat available which was something like 15 or 20 quid. First halfords I tried had no stock. As with all modern boosters now it also has a minimal type backrest. I use it regularly in my 996 which is a lot smaller than a 991 I'd guess. I've used it in the back and in the front. I chose it because I saw a post from someone on here with 2 in the back of his 996.
Can get pics if anyone is interested.

Confirm this works. Just put one in the back of my T
Have just fitted 2 into my 991.2 C4.
This isofix one for ages 3.5 to 12 is a flawless fit:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B07ZG7GJSP?psc=1&...
Genuinely fits perfectly, so pleased with it.
This belt one for my 2 year old:
https://www.halfords.com/baby-and-child/car-seats/...
Fits the space fine but getting it secure wasn’t perfect, quite a bit of belt movement. Got there in the end though.
Happy to share photos.
Any chance you could post a photo of the Maxi-Cosi RodiFix AirProtect Child Car Seat fitted in situ? Can you get the head/back rest to fully extend to its highest setting?
My son is 7, we have a CYBEX Solution Z i-Fix with an extendable back/head rest which is quite bulky and does not extend to it highest settling as it hits the C pillar. He's growing so i need an alternative, i'd rather have a proper seat than a booster.
I have these official seats in storage at home. They’ve been used perhaps 2 or 3 times each and so are in perfect condition.
Essentially, I don’t use my 911 for child transport, so I’m happy to sell them as bargains if anyone is interested. They fit the 991, but like all of these seats are better with a matt or similar down first. I’m in Cheshire.

Not quite I'm afraid is the answer. It does help to remove the seat base but I suspect you've done that already.
I tend to just put the eldest in the front when I can (recognising this options requires front passenger seat ISOFIX).

Bit of a thread revival but I have a 991.1 and the graco slimfit seat but I can't get it 100% secure. If you pull it from the bottom it slides forward still which can't be safe in an impact.
Do you have any pics of how you fitted it?
I’ve got a Porsche Junior for sale right now if you want it. Cost me something like £270 but will sell it for 100 quid to get it out of my garage! It’s pristine too.
Spent ages researching this and I can confirm the following for my 991.2 C2S.
Britax Romer ADVANSAFIX IV R Group 123: very well made and it fits well but you need to have the front seats quite far forward, your child won’t have much legroom, it’s difficult to fit initially and near impossible to remove - so much so that after removing it once I won’t fit it again - was ultra difficult and frustrating trying to remove - there just isn’t any access to the isofix buttons on the side.
Maxi cosi kore i size 100-150cm: Much better fit. Much lighter and gives front passenger and child much more legroom. Slightly challenging to remove once in but far far easier than above and a well made good value car seat.
Or if you just want a booster seat for a bigger child the Harmony Group 2-3 Youth Booster fits perfectly and a bargain at £10 from Asda of all places

Hi Bob
Thank you for sharing about the Maxi Cosi Kore seat for the 991. Having purchased a Carrera base (992.1) I'm now looking for child seats.
My quick question is, did you have to remove the seat base (squab) in the back seat itself? Or did you place the Maxi Cosi Kore onto the existing rear seat?
