Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

I tried hold the window button down 10 sec and hold it back up 10 sec but it did not fix my issue.

POST 1Original post

Hey guys, I have a little problem with my window. Here are the symptoms. - Window comes down when inside door handle is pulled and window goes up when inside handle is released. Normal behaviour - Window comes down when outside door handle is pulled and goes down when outside door handle is released. Normal behaviour - Window goes back up while the door latch is unlocked. Abnormal behaviour. Window should stay down when door is opened. I have a little video of the issues. https://youtu.be/JeJgf7GXHjc I tried hold the window button down 10 sec and hold it back up 10 sec but it did not fix my issue. So i suspect the door latch microswitch is defective but if anybody could confirm before i order and replace the part. Much appreciated.

I'm having the same issue on my passenger door and on top of that there are random times the window will not drop when pulling the inside or outside door handle. I also realized that the same door isn't locking either with the key fob. I ran a scan and got the code "8006 Door Lock Fault" so I'm hoping this is maybe causing the issues with the window drop as well. It hasn't been a huge priority to fix since it's not the drivers door. Let me know what you are able to figure out.

POST 4Original post

Hello, I have a new symptom: If i pull gently the outside handle, the window stays down. if i pull gently and slowly, the locking mechanism unlocks in a "half cocked" fashion. if i manually move the plastic piece in the fully unlocked position, the window goes back up. So the combination of these symptoms points me to a defective door lock mechanism. The part number is 3D1-837-015C retails for 250 CAD at the dealer. I found online that the cayenne and touareg share the same part number and it turns out that is is quite a cheap volkswagen part. I found one for 34 USD on ebay. https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Front-Left-...reg-Cayenne/182929150998?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m2763.l2649

Let us know how you make out with the VW part. Have a similar situation. Window rolls down with either handle but goes up as soon as you let go. It all works ok but a little awkward to close the door. May try to open the door this weekend and figure out which switch is worn out.

POST 7Original post

The door started closing poorly so I finally had to take this on. https://www.ebay.com/itm/163214097404 $26 from ebay so I had to try it. Studied lots of YouTube and it was still a difficult job but now my window works! Hope it lasts because I don't want to do that again.

POST 8Original post

I took apart my door only to realize that they sent me the passenger side door latch instead of the driver side. I put it back together and waiting for the correct part to arrive....
