Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

28 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

Hello all. New to the forum and Porsche. I'm signing for a 987.2 Boxster S tomorrow. So excited. I have searched for some time. I started looking for a Cayman S but ended up with a nice E89 Z4. Eventually my search re started and I was looking for a Boxster and the endless search for the right options and colors. Finally I find a car that ticks all my boxes. As a new owner and hobby mechanic with lift access I hope to learn a lot from the forum to help me get the most from my weekend ride. Cheers

POST 2Original post

Congratulations, I'm jealous of your lift access you lucky man...

POST 3Original post

Yes I am lucky a good friend has an outdoor lift on a concrete slab at his place just a mile down the road. It can be a little warm in the summer time but it sure beats crawling under on your back. Especially at my age

And another one down the rabbit hole.... [emoji3] Welcome! Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk

POST 5Original post

Thank you ! I suspect you are right. I can't wait. Like a kid at Christmas waiting for: Heated sport seats PASM Sport Chrono LSD Sport Exhaust And more

POST 6Original post

Congratulations! You are going to love it! Signed, Someone who put 100,000 of non-commuting miles on his since purchasing it.

POST 7Original post

The car is in transport. Delivery is scheduled in 4 days. Waiting...cleaning the garage. Counting the days

POST 8Original post

Help me wait. Here is a pic from the advertisement, and the Vin decoder list. 1 owner 10k mile car with 10 annual Porsche oil change and services. It seems very well cared for. My first Porsche. I'm so excited.

POST 9Original post

Wow, thats a great spec'd car. Pretty much all the nice goodies factory installed! How long till it arrives? Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk

POST 10Original post

2-3 days .... If all goes well. The spec is just about everything I wanted. LSD was a surprise

POST 12Original post

First drive - I can't wipe this smile off my face. This is a pretty sweet little car. Corners like a scared cat on carpet.

POST 13Original post

That's awesome. I was out in this yesterday, and got back in my 07 and was just as happy. Enjoy! Any plans for it or just gas n go? Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk

POST 14Original post

That car is gorgeous! Love the color. I got almost everything I wanted on my car... except color. I kinda plan to add some color. Stripes or something. First mod on my list is a top hack or mod that allows top operation while moving. I had a Smart Top module in my Z4. I thought I read about a 1 wire hack for 987 but not sure it is gen 2 applicable? I need to find more info on options to open the top while moving. Not sure where to look. The parking brake nanny is over the top inconvenient.

POST 15Original post

Yeah I have to say this spec is very sweet. I have almost the same car, just Cayman. I had days when Ive spent so much time in the car that driving next day to work was like... Omg again? But then I sit behind the wheel and it's the same story.

POST 16Original post

Thank you Boski - I tried to walk away but the spec kept calling me back. Kind of like my second wife I'm sure I will be a long time learning to use everything this car has to offer.

POST 18Original post

Very nice car! Practically new! I didn’t realize 987.2 cars had a top nanny. I put my top up and down while rolling slowly in my 987.1 pretty regularly. The manual says up to 30mph but that sounds dangerous, I do it around 10.

POST 19Original post

Thank you. That is exactly what I thought. Almost new... I guess too many tops got pranged - lol. They tied it to the E brake. Seems like there could be a simple hack. I'll keep a look out for it. Need to see if the first click applies any brake. If not - then I'm good to go just activating the dash light using the first click. Thought I might have read something about that - but I've read so much so fast my head is swimming

POST 21Original post

My '09 doesn't have a top-nanny. I've put it up or down any number of times pulling up to a red light. And mine is a 987.2.

POST 22Original post

As far as a "smart lock" module on any 987 - how does it handle the manual latch at the header? And there shouldn't be any parking-brake nanny on any 987.

POST 23Original post

that's a nice looking car scootr! what did you have in mind for mods?

POST 24Original post

I ordered the DSC Sport suspension mod for starters. Do you have any mods you want to suggest?

POST 25Original post

hmm... your car is already pretty well spec'ed - I suggest just enjoying the car as is and fixing any wear and tear items first - the suspension and brakes are a pretty good place to start. Another popular upgrade is a new exhaust to improve the aural enjoyment

POST 26Original post

I put the DSC Sport tune computer in it and that improved the PASM big time !

POST 28Original post

Both depending upon the mode you are in. In the normal mode the ride is more compliant. The car soaks up the bumps and ride is softer but when you go into a curve it responds instantly stiffening up and giving better handling than OEM normal. So both softer and stiffer depending upon the need. Then in sport mode it is stiffer yet it keeps absorbing bumps better. The car is much flatter in the turns and the tires feel more planted. This is how the car should have been set up from the factory.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
