Orrrrrrr guys you could use a wooden brick to reverse the car onto and your existing jack should easily slide under.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I recently went to jack up my car with my old trusted hydraulic jack, only to find the jacks too high! So I got my old trusted ramps out, you're getting the picture now, only to find they're too steep to drive up on to.
Anyone know where to get usable ramps and jacks??!
Thanks
James
Hi James,
I use this...
http://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk/michelin/aluminium-racing-trolley-jack.aspx
Yours is slightly lower than mine but should work perfectly... :thumb:
Liking the thinking behind the lo-cost option Maxie, but it's an old trolley jack and about 150mm too high making it a serious bit of timber!
Thanks for the link Stuart, looks like a good unit, should be for that price!
My recomendations are:
£270 - or let me know your postcode, I will find the nearest Unipart/Partco depo & convince them to give you lots of discount (they would get 50-60% off this price so I may get about £30+ off

Aquick surf around the Amazon type places found this >

£183 - This is through Machine Mart - always barter with them, again they have loads of margin to play with, offer them £150

The two above would last forever on home use as they are designed for frequent workshop usage.
PS Rocket jacks are great, ask any techy in here, if you roll it up to a car on stands you don't have to pump for two minutes you just put your foot on a lever and it is instantly to the hieght of the car
Let me know if you need further help. :thumb:
I've got one of these - Torin Big Red Race Jack. Excellent, and a bit cheaper than most other aluminium jacks:

Another great home jack
I reckon we should set up a meeting point mid-country and have a Jack-fest
Show off our jacks... ok mine is by no means light but she has 4 ton of lift! ... I reckon I may paint her up ready for the meet
Thanks guys, didn't anticipate such a reaction...guessing everyone's got driving withdrawal symptoms!
Quite a few choices, found a couple more:
Seriously discounted:

Almost too cheap but looks well made:

BTW, Mrs OZE has bet me £1 the jack-fest will probably happen in some way, she reckons a Blue jack would win in the absence of a pink one.
Pressure :?:
Gents,
I bought a 3 tonne low profile (75mm) high lift jack (good for 911 Carrera and Jeep cherokee!!) from Costco about 3 years ago, think it was about £60. they dont have that one any more, but they do have the light weight ali ones.
I'm of to costco tomorrow and will see what they have and will post details, prices and pics on my return.
It will definatly be cheaper than whats being offered by the likes Draper etc. and Costco always trumps on quaility. :bye:
A guy on RennTech made these, and I've been meaning to make a pair myself, but haven't got round to it yet. Looks like a neat solution to getting the whole car in the air safely using one jack and 4 axle stands.
Oze
I bought mine last year but asked the same question on here

IIRC you'll need an entry height of 11cm or less. Many low-entry trolley jacks have a lowered height of 8.5.
In October I bought a 2.5 Tonne Sealey jack (SE_2500LE - the "LE" (Low-entry) is important!) plus a pair of Axle stands from DIYTools,.co.uk for £124 all-in, with VAT and free delivery.
Good quality products, with a 3-day turnaround - Highly recommended
It all worked like a charm on the C2S, plenty of clearance.
Cheers,
Roy
Here is the current offering from Costco.
It's a heavy duty 3 tonne jack, low entry 89mm and then lifts to 540mm.
It's pretty much the same as the one I bought 4 years ago, only mine is black, and it's still going strong. 8) It's a big heavy jack, not for girls...
So if your a member of Costco you can get a good low entry jack for less then £70.
While you there you can get your 4 litre tubs off Mobil 1 for £22 as well.
Regards
James.
Thought I'd also share my dollys with you as well.
These are great for moving the car around and gets it to a good working height as well.
These are from Snap On :worship: . Many years ago though. They bolt onto the hubs.
Makes bleeding brakes, getting the engine out etc. easy.....
You do need a high lift jack to get the car in the air though....and you need too hold you breath while the car wobbles 2 foot from the ground on the jack
2 post lift coming in the new year........it'll be bliss once thats installed.
