I have the CR11 head unit and trunk mounted CDC-3 changer at the moment but I'm thinking of fitting an aftermarket double DIN touch screen head unit to include a DVD/Bluetooth/SAT NAV/Radio (don't want to go with a PCM - too expensive!!) so I'll need to relocate the AIR CON control lower down. Does anyone know where I can get a new backing plate for the AIR CON control to the correct shape of the lower cubby holes ? Anyone who's done this before and can offer advise or tips (do's & don'ts) then please let me know.

The aircon control just slots into the bottom slot, use the same locating screws. OPC sell a bezel as this is a standard factory part for cars that have the Porsche double din unit. Ray :thumbs:

I got a double din sat/nav for mine a few months ago. I moved the climate control from the top to the very bottom hole (the one above the batwing shape plate). I got the surround for this from the Porsche Centre Chester. It has very thin top and bottom edges and sloped sides to perfectly fit the lower dash part in front of the gear knob. Only cost about a tenner or less from memory.

Thanks rhenders. 996UFO I take it you mean the OPC by Cheshire Oaks? Did you do the installation yourself or did you get it done professionally? If you did it yourself how was it and are there any pitfalls to look out for.

Air Con Fascia/Surround (for lower mounting position/curved edges - Black Plastic) - 996 552 339 00 01C - £2.86 Just over £3 with VAT! See this thread for further suggestions - I put in a storage bin above the new aircon position on the lower console.
