Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Replace every 7500, and have fun' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace every 7500, and have fun' (1 discussions). Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I picked up my new baby on Saturday. The first owner had gone nuts with the options list, including midnight blue paint and Natural leather interior: it's like sitting inside my favourite old leather jacket!
This is going to be my daily driver for my LA<->OC commute, so any advice on how to best look after a car racking up 20k+ miles a year would be appreciated.
Step 1: Get a Union Jack sticker for the window. Let all those yankee yeoman around you know who's boss.
Step 2: Go back and get a Tiptronic. I wouldn't wish 405 traffic with a manual transmission on my worst enemy. Well, maybe...
Step 3: Get XM Radio, so you can listen to the BBC anytime you get homesick.
Seriously, though, great car - love the painted console. Keep the maintenance up to date, and she'll have no problem with 20k a year.
Get a windsheild sunshade (a custom fit one, get the covercraft uvs100 one, that's what Mercedes-Benz slaps their name on and sells at their dealerships, I have it, it's good) to protect that beautiful leather.
Richard
Thanks for the good advice all. The GB sticker and XM radio will be transferred over from my old car, and I will definitely get the sunshade. Does the rear window need one too?
As for the tiptronic, I'm too addicted to the razor-sharp throttle response to let anything dull it
Well..there'd be no way to hold up a sunshade in the rear, but it isn't too big a deal since that sun just falls on carpeting...I suppose you could get a lloyd mat to cover that carpeting, but carpeting is fairly resistant to fading and shrinkage, so unless you plan on keeping this for over a decade I wouldn't bother.
Hey Mike
I actually bought it just up the road from you at the Auto Gallery on Ventura Blvd. I live in Redondo, so at least I don't have to wade through the LAX jams on the 405.
Congrats Simon! I love Lapis and groovy interior too. Looks like the previous owne got the rear main center console painted too? A nice brucey bonus (only Brits would understand that).
I'll have our decal guy work you up a FULL union jack for the roof lol...
It is a "nice one my son"
The main mods I have in mind are for the driver: more HPDE starting this weekend. Thhen some safety essentials like a DAS bar and 6-points for the Silver State Classic. If funds, time, energy and Er'Indoors permit, I'll pick up a Spec 944 at some point to be my track monster, and reserve this for road and Silver State use.
And the latest development in the story: I gave it to the dealer this morning to fit the Lojack, and they discovered a failing RMS, so I'll be in my rental Mazda 6 for another day. Oh well, at least I'll know it's in good shape when I get it back.
Doh.. make sure they install the "updated" seal (I'm guessing they will). No biggie, 4-5 hours and you should be on your way
The Mazda 6 apparently has great turn in or so they say?
Hi Alex
The 6 tucks in very nicely under trailbraking into the office parking lot
It's the V6 model too, which is lot more fun than the gutless 4-cylinder model I rented a few years back.
I'm looking forward to getting my new baby back tomorrow though. Which reminds me, I have my first Porsche Poseur story to tell:
When I bought the car on Saturday, I had to pop down the road to Citibank to get a money order. These days, they have to take an interest in transactions over $10k to prevent money laundering (we're not happy in our industry that we're now expected to do the FBI's job, but that's another story), so the girl behind the desk asked if it was for property, I answered it was for a car, and under further interrogation admitted it was a Porsche. She said "will you come and show it to us when you pick it up?" - and my girlfriend was only a few feet away! Truly, the power of the Porsche with some SoCal women is terrifying!
Simon
Thanks Joe. I love it more and more every day. Now my only concern is how to get hold of a set of Natural Brown GT3 seats, but at least it's an interesting quest!
