Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all- If anyone is looking for a way to tap power for a radar detector without actually cutting into the wires in the cell phone connector, I posted this in the GT3 forum: https://rennlist.com/forums/996-gt2-gt3-forum/281538-non-destructive-v1-hardwire-power-tap-from-center-console.html

POST 2Original post

Good info. Becker sells the mating connector. It is the one on the left in the pic.

POST 3Original post

Great info. Thanks to both of you. Do you have a part number and contact info for the Becker piece?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Doh! Wish I knew that earlier! Well, at least the pins were cheap! The Becker connector should be a more reliable connection. I must have been asking the wrong people, the Porsche dealer parts departments I called were not aware of anything like this. Thanks ToolPants!

POST 5Original post

The male connector/pins are made by AMP/Tyco but Becker sells it as an assembly with pig tails. Porsche does not sell it. $5 plus shipping from Becker. Click on "what's new." Telephone power cable. http://www.beckerautosound.com/ Vfxbox recently used it to power his devices.

POST 6Original post

But you get the satisfaction of knowing you used your inquisitive ingenuity! I am going to order the becker gismo today. Thanks again.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Great find, about time someone made the part! Thanks!

POST 8Original post

hey tool pants... where do i get the cables which have sigarate lighter socket at the end, the ones you have on your picture? or where do i get the parts to turn becker cables into the ones which have a sigarete lighter socket?
