Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Firstly I would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year for 2010 Now for the serious stuff, I have very recently bought a 996 C2 1999 I must say I absolutely love the car and it lives upto every expectation. Until I might say the snow spoiled my fun!!!! The car has the X51 & the M030 (I think thats right) option other than that it's standard. Although I am thinking of getting the car SuperChipped. So at the moment I think the car is around 320Bhp, but what does this mean.......what is the top speed of the car (on a race circuit of course) 0 - 60 time etc. I only ask as I ride a bike (Yamaha R1) and do quite a lot of track days Donnington, Cadwell & Mallory mainly and was wondering which one would be the most fun?! Thanks guys :worship:

POST 2Original post

Nice car by the way :thumb: The 0-60 time is around 5 secs if manual and the top end around 178mph acording to Total 911 mag. fast enough for a car in normal driving I think you will agree As to which will be best on track, others will be along shortly to give best advice :hand:

POST 6Original post

Hello fellow 3.4 X51. I have M030 and the Rear GT Fins (XAD) also. Mine has been SuperChipped - nicely boosts midrange, more responsive in gear. Get a CAI for better soundtrack! Note: gains are max difference in range at same revs, not enhancement to max power. X51 not graphed, but 3.4 is: http://www.superchips.co.uk/curves/996c4yr1999.pdf Negotiate for a 10-15% disc if you get it from SC HQ in Buckingham. With the standard 300->320 X51 power and extended rev range (limit raised by 200 rpm on X51 DME) you should see "theoretically" the max speed raised from 178mph to 182 mph (however, the age, mileage, servicing, fuel, tyres, MAF, filter, coil packs etc etc will all vary this from manufacturer's "NEW" spec anyway). The biggest factor that will not allow either of our cars to attain those figures is the rear wing, which will be busy converting drag to down force, but at least you will stay on the road near those speeds! 0-60 is expected to drop by 0.2 secs to 4.9s according to Porsche spec sheets for the X51.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for that guys you've answered my question...yet again!!! It's very fast  The car has recently had new clutch, tyres, MAF sensor, Coils so should be pretty good by all accounts and it looks like having the car SuperChipped is the way forward, thanks to my fellow X51 owner (love your car by the way). Thanks for the link to the clip Bubbles lovin it, talk about close. Looks like I'm gonna be having lots of fun this Summer :thumb: Thanks stuart for the advice, Nurburgring is definately penciled on the calendar for this year :drive: !!! Thanks again guys you've been very helpful Kind regards Lee

... well you would say that wouldn't you - they're almost twins! (ok so mine is darker blue, with lighter wheels and some power going to the front, and yours has a bigger spoiler etc etc) Did you check the garage? http://911uk.com/garage.php?mode=view_vehicle&CID=422 (you should add yours when you get time)
