Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that suspect a cause
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suspected cause
I just checked in again on my car and the computer still shows the car in the paint shop, so unless I'm getting extra coats of paint (or something went horribly wrong) the computer is probably a little behind on our status BiggerTwin your car could be ahead of mine for all I know.
Leading evidence: 'little behind' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'little behind' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Fill customer orders is a mystery' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
Porsches algorithm for filling customer orders is a mystery to me but it surely makes sense to them.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Does anybody know what checkpoint 8 is? My car is in production at the paint shop and the dealer's computer also shows checkpoint 8 but he has no idea what that means.
I don't know but mine was in the paint shop on Monday or Tuesday of this week so yours isn't far behind mine, we'll have to see what VIN#'s we get when we get them.
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">I got word today that my build date is scheduled for Dec. 19. That is 103 days after the order was placed. Porsches algorithm for filling customer orders is a mystery to me but it surely makes sense to them. I suppose it has something to do with options and colors so I won’t take it personally. Maybe they ran out of artic silver with all the launch cars./fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/wink_smile.gif Anyway my Cayman is just a bunch of bolts and parts at the moment while some of you have cars on ships headed your way. It still might arrive shortly after 1/15--I hope.
My car has been completed and is waiting on the next boat. Forgot to ask for a VIN, but a lot of us will be close together. Anyone know how many they build in a week?
I just checked in again on my car and the computer still shows the car in the paint shop, so unless I'm getting extra coats of paint (or something went horribly wrong) the computer is probably a little behind on our status BiggerTwin your car could be ahead of mine for all I know. My dealer said they'd call me again next week with details if anything changes.
On Wed eve my dealer said I had passed chkpoint 8. It was completed and awaiting shipment. He said it would beat least6 weeks before it arraived. He thought end of Jan or 1st week in Feb.
Sounds too long to me. My dealer said the average is about 3 weeks from completion to US delivery depending on when it gets ona boat.We do have the holidays to contend with, but I'm still hoping to see mine mid Jan........fingers crossed!
My dealer told me its approx. 8 wks start to delivery at dealer and that its approx 2 wks to get to port at San Diego. So I am hoping that mine is here by the 14th which is last date I had for taking delivery.
Chuck,
That does sound about right. From what I know the boat left port on the 13th and the schedule has it arriving at San Diego on the 27th, exactly 2 weeks on water! Then we have to get those mainland cars off of there so that sucker can get its butt over here!

Don't get too hung up on the eDCS status of your car. Porsche's computer system is not great...and no where near real time. Our computers are hooked into PCNA (Atlanta). Each evening the files are batched with Germany at 12:00pm EST...thus shown status is not real time. Porsche puts their money into their car development and not their computer system for dealers.
You guys are putting too much stock into the shown status of your cars.
Checkpoint 8 is the final inspection stage before your car is sent to US importer.
