Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

A question for all those that are now driving Caymans. Anyone found any problems with selecting reverse instead of first gear. They are close together, didn't have any problems on test drive but was being careful. Wondered if a qucik selection, pulling away from lights etc. may be error prone.

POST 2Original post

My only experience was a several hour test drive - no problems at all - fit like a glove - like I had used it for years after only about 10 minutes. Anyone else with more time using it have a problem?

POST 3Original post

No problems at all. I think the gear change is brilliant, one of the best I have used.

POST 4Original post

No problem at all. Clarkson's an idiot. that, or he was in a very 'baggy' car.

POST 5Original post

No problem, but i did have this in an old 996C4. Now I have park-assist it would never cause a problem anyway, as you get a little bleep when reverse is engaged.

POST 6Original post

Nah, reverse is sort of a firm push left (uk car) and down a bit too. Feels alot different to first. You'd have to be clown to get it wrong,

POST 7Original post

Hey watch what you say. My kid's name is Bozo./fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/wink_smile.gif

POST 8Original post

No problem at all. This gearbox is perfect. For me it's impossible to do that or you don't kwow driving

POST 9Original post

Most Six gear carshave first beside reverse. I had an M3 which had the same layout. You would have to be heavy handed to hit reverse by mistake. JC was just trying to be controversial as usual. I have notnoticed many Porsches reversing into other cars at the lights!
