The only thing that I'm more obsessed about than getting the Cayman is golf and I haven't heard any confirmed reports that you can fit 2 golf bags in the back of the Cayman. I've seen one of Porsche's marketing photos that shows 1 golf bag in the back (aligned vertically with the rear window) but I know that they used the Porsche golf bag which is tiny to begin with and probably didn't put any woods in the bag.
Does anyone know if 2 bags fit in the back (withcomplete sets of clubs)? And if so, in which direction...horizontally in the deeper part of the compartment...or vertically covering the rear window?
There's a picture somewhere of 2 golf bags in the back, both aligned vertically. I'm sure someone will pop along and link it.
I'm like you Nthusiast, passions have come and gone, but golf has endured as one for over 40 years. I too am concerned agout how the golf bag issue will play out.
Every picture we have seen to date has been with the small Porsche bags. Personally I am not too optimistic that my Hogan cart bag will fit at all. My fallback is to attempt to buy another bag that will not look like a canvas day bag but small enough to fit into the Cayman. It may turn out that we may have to spread the clubs and bag throughout the trunk and cockpit in order to take both passions to the course.

Ouch! I'm really hoping that I don't have to spread the clubs around the car in order to get to the course...especially if I'm going with my wife or a friend - I can hear it now - 'you spent $65k on a car and you can't even get our golfs clubs in the back'.
I've got a stand/carry bag which will be a bit more flexible than a cart bag but it still may be too big to fit. Does anyone have the dimensions of the deeper 'well' - wall to wall? Or the dimensions from the base of the shelf to the glass window when closed?
This could be depressing.../fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/cry_smile.gif
When I was at the dealer viewing the launch car there was a guy trying to fit clubs. They go in a North/South direction, so the club heads are behind your head.Only the smallest bags will fit, the ones that are about 6-8 in. in diameter. A regular size bag, 10-12 in. diameter doesn't fit like that. You'd have to crush it with the hatch. You can sort ofget 1 regular size bag in the middle, extending between the seats. But the bag is pretty much horizontal and if you hit the brakes hard, it would hit the dash. Either way, there will be scuff marks on that aluminium plate.
Doable, you just need to add 2 new golf bags to the priceof the Cayman. One for you and a loaner for your partner.
Or by like my friend who plays with a bare minimum of clubs and takes everyone's money.
I'm not a golfer, but my friend Jim is:

thanks for the input guys..I guess unless I'm going alone I'll have to take the Cayenne (still not a bad option)...or I could have the wife/friend drive separately with the clubs while I take the Cayman! hmmmm....
