Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Seems like a lot of the concern with mobile fitters was the lack of geometry checking, I could get my indy to do that if I have to, though it would be easier to get it all done at once.

I forgot to check the tread on the front tires, it only occurred to me when I got to work that maybe I should keep them on the same generation.

But, should I replace the fronts at the same time?

Looks like I got a nail in one of the rears, and it's developed a very slow leak, so I'm going to replace both rear tires.

The tires are Conti Sport Contact N, and I'll replace with N2 on the rear, so should I do the fronts at the same time, so they match?
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Guess it depends on the condition of your fronts, personally I've never had any issues running mismatched tyres front to rear, it's not ideal but unless you're going on track then it dhouldn't be an issue.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm off the the peak district on Saturday morning on holiday, so extra keen on tires with plenty of grip
Also means I don't have much time to shop about, and I'll have to get a mobile place to do the fitting, any recommendations?
Thanks,
Steve
Edit to add: car is a pre-facelift c2 tip (no PSM etc.), if that makes any difference.
Thanks for responses.
Unfortunately my nearest CostCo is Watford or Croydon (both 1h+), which is further than I want to go with a tire with a nail in it.
There's a Kwik Fit not too far away, but they're not open late.

A bigger concern in these conditions and temperatures will be getting any heat into your tyres, regardless of tread depth, have fun and stay safe in the Peak District.
OK, lakeside is not out of the question, but still a fair distance.
Thanks for the anti-recommendation on mobile fitters though. I'll try to find somewhere with all the alignment gear.
It's possible my local indy does tires, but I don't think so.
Costco only do Michelin.
If the fronts are Contis too, and have plenty of life, then just get 2 Contis for the rear. If they are different N ratings it shouldn't matter.
A couple of the guys on PCGB have spoken to Michelin about this, and they confirm that it is OK to fit the latest N rated tyres (of the same type) on the rear if you have a lower number N rating on the front (and vice-versa). However, you shouldn't mix them on the same axle. I hope I have explained that clearly.......
And it depends a lot on the mobile fitter. I always use a local chap and he is excellent - exceptionally careful with my wheels. Event Tyres in my area are also very good.

There's a place in Southwark (BestBuyTyres) who open at 8AM, so I could go there before work, if I can get an appointment.
I forgot to check the tread on the front tires, it only occurred to me when I got to work that maybe I should keep them on the same generation. I'll try to check them tonight.
I'm not really attached to Contis, just that I've been pretty happy with them, and I wasn't planning to get 4 new tires before this afternoon
Found out that my local indy (RGA in Vauxhall) can do tires, dunno why I didn't think they would.
Price is good, competitive with black circles, and I can drop the car off tomorrow morning and pick it up in the evening, which is ideal.
I don't know how old the fronts are, but I looked at them last night, and they look to be in pretty good condition, so I think I'll leave them. They're SC2s, not SCs, so I don't have to worry about mismatch. Somehow, I missed the "2" on the tirewall when I looked, but I was in a bit of a hurry.

It's easy to find out how old a tyre is.
On one sidewall (not both) there is an oval depression with the date embossed inside. It is in the format manufacturing week/year.
So 4505 would be November 2005. Etc.
Here are 3404 and 4201 on Pirellis.
