Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

I just read this in Road & Track in letters to the editor, just think how lucky we are!! 'I can't eat, I can't sleep. I have never wanted something more in my life than a Porsche Cayman. I have looked at Boxsters for years with a ho-hum feeling. The Cayman has that look I have been waiting for: powerful and unique. For me it is still out of reach as my dreams always seem to be, and I hope Porsche comes up with a Cayman (non S), which might bring the price down a bit. Otherwise I will have to wait a few years to get a used one. Either way I will have one someday.' Steve Christy, Lancaster PA I feel like a very lucky man, counting my blessing Russ Edited by - RussK on 12/17/2005 12:12:07 AM

POST 2Original post

Your so right Russ. This is one of those stories that makes one reflect on how lucky we are, especially around this time of year. Just think how many others are out there jus like Steve Christy, from Lancaster PA. But being that his story has crossed these pages and touched us all, poor Steve does not necessarily have to go without his wish this Holiday Season. Just think what a wonderful thing we could all make happen if we just pool our money and buy Steve his very own Cayman S. In the spirit of the 'make a wish foundation' we have a chance to do something special for a needy someone. This someone, this year, can be Steve. Soon I will be sending you all a PM with a P.O. Box number where you can mail checks or cash directly to me in my name. I will, of course, make all the arrangements to get Steve his Cayman S. Oh, and you can be sure that I will send each and every one a special thank you note on behalf of Steve.

kmns, I think I am going to have to have a talk with your wife! Shame shame shame on you!/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/angry_smile.gifI fell right into your scheme up until the last paragraph. I think you stay up too late as well, so there! (but of course if you didn't I might not have anyone to talk to?) Aloha Russ

POST 4Original post

Russ, I am laughing so loud that I'm afraid I may be waking my poor wife again. I say again because after I made my post I went over and woke her up to read it. It is, however, after 1:00 am here. What's so funny is that she too said 'Shame on you'(I'm lol again). She then said once more that we are all nuts and told me never to wake her again./fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/embaressed_smile.gif As far as staying up too late goes, I can't sleep well anyway, waiting for this car, so thank God I have this site to pass the night hours./fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/thanks.gif/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/pc.gif

POST 5Original post

kmns, I will say one thing for you, YOU ARE A BRAVE or stupid MAN! If I woke up my wife at that hour..........well let's just say I wouldn't need a new car anymore! Now if you don't mind (because it is morning) I just have to go get Dawn to read this!! You are living proof that I am not the silliest one on this site! Ha ha!! TIme to go get started on my garage! And I have actully talkied Dawn into going to look at the Cayman with me this afternoon! I will get some pics and share them later, this ought to be interesting! I wonder if I can talk her into wearing her little lime green Cayman shirt?? That might be pushing it! Aloha Russ

POST 6Original post

Good morning Russ, Monique just informed me that stupid MAN is the description of choice, and If I ever wake her again on a Caymanites afliction related topic it will be grounds for harsh action on her part. In the meantime she is checking with our health provider to see if what aflicts many or us, Caymanitis, is covered under our plan. She seriously thinks tha I need help. My salesman has already agreed with her. Good luck with your garage project today.

POST 7Original post

<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">I had to go into town yesterday (not a favorite activity) and noticed a pretty little Boxsterparked forlornly looking in a used car lot surrounded by SUV's and Pickups. Next to it was an old Civic with dark tinted windows that had bubbles in the tint. The Boxster looked very lonely and out of place, like a pedigreed dog in a kennel full of mutts. It appeared to be well cared for but now had big yellow writing on the windows that said 'REDUCED'. I couldn't not help but wonder if some owner had watched its build date, its trip on the container ship and couldn't wait for its arrival and now has tossed itfor another toy. It was all I could do to keep from adopting it.
POST 8Original post

God, this post is really beginnig to tear into my heart strings. Santa Fe, there is no doubt you too rank right up there with some of us with the Caymanitis affliction. But don't worry, after you get your Cayman, and with a little medication, I think youj and the rest of us will return to some sort of sanity.

POST 9Original post

kmns, I have serious doubts we'll return to normal. Aren't you going to spend the first week getting your break in done and the second seeing how much trouble you can get into with it? I sure am. I doubt if my wife will see much of me during that time unless she goes for a ride.

POST 10Original post

SF, that's funny. I want to buy every motorcycle I pass that's for sale My wife's already said she's too scared to ride with me.... I have no idea why...

POST 11Original post

Az I think your absolutely correct. Maybe just wishful thinking on my part. In fact, just to show you how far this goes, since South Florida is so flat with few if any winding roads, I have spent the last few months scoping out all the best cloverleafs within a 50 mile radius. Of course much of the driving there will be in the wee hours of the morning when there is little traffic to slow me down. Monique will probably spend a few nights in bed alone. Sounds like the begenning of a new excuse to be out late at night./fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/wink_smile.gif

POST 12Original post

Yeah, after the cops clear the drunks off the road, at about 2:30am, is time to start! Your clover leaf idea is a good one... Here's a track I made up when I was young, in Irvine, Ca. You've got run 1 stoplight, but.....minor additional offense, given what I wasdoing!

POST 13Original post

Gentlemen START YOUR ENGINES PLEASE! I am ROTFWL!!! This is just way too funny, I never knew that there was a cloth big enough to have all of us cut from it! I love your track and the clover leaf idea! It is a good thing we all don't live in the same city, geezzz can you imagine! Newspaper Headlines titled, <p align="center">'MYSTERYCARSTAKE OVER THEHIGHWAYS' <p align="center"> A LARGE GROUP OF MYSTERIOUS AUTOMOBILES THAT RESEMBLE A CROCODILE WERE SEEN RAVAGING THE HIGHWAYS AFTER DARK! STILL UNEXPLAINED AS NO OFFICER OR HELICOPTER WAS ABLE TO CATCH ANY OF THEM!
POST 14Original post

Great headline! I wish it was reality. I should mention I went to jail after 4 convictions of Driving on a Suspened License...

POST 15Original post

I have just completed the best belly laugh of my life. You guys are a blast. And I thought I was a lone loose canon. Russ, Your last post is hilarious. Even Monique joined in with a right out belly laugh. If the authorities are monitoring us thanks to the Patriot Act and recent revelations, I think our plan, and our goose, is cooked. I can just see it now. All major cloverleafs around the country staked out by State Troopers beginning on Jan. 14.

POST 16Original post

There must bemany of simialr mind since they offer Sport Chrono! I mean come on! This big wart of stopwatch in the middle of the dash... silliest thing I've ever seen!

POST 17Original post

chris, That is exactly what I thought when I first saw the Chrono sitting there. I like what it does not what it looks like. Russ
