Hi all, coming back from work today, snow still bad but fun C4S get to 60mph and vibration and juddering underneath really bad, managed to get to 70 in spite of the snow, clear dual carriageway and the juddering was terrible. Got back at 6pm so too late to call anyone, does anybody have any ideas, whichever way I'm guessing expensive :-( Thanks all...

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Ice in a wheel, throwing it out of balance?
perhaps the viscous coupling trying to move % of drive to front due to the slippery conditions? Problems with that transfer mechainism perhaps?
Sounds likely to me too, I had same thing once with some mud on the inside of a wheel, thought there was something really serious amiss until I took the rim off and found the offending dirt. Quick clean and was back to normal. TB
Seems it is quite common at the moment. See posts 8 and 10 in this thread: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=48&t=794512&mid=18004&nmt=driving the 996 turbo in snow
Thanks All, hopefully just the ice!
Did any warning lights or messages come up? Ray :dont know:
May be worth lookin under the car to check if the under trays are intact. If one has been damaged by snow collecting underneath it could break loose, causing vibration/ noise.
