Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I have used Ragg Topp on both the Boxster and 996 and it is awesome.

Suggestion
The overspray comes right off...even off of a plastic window as the case with the Boxster, although it does require a little work on the plastic window so if you have one that is the only place I would recommend masking off.

I use RaggTopp and I just spray it on as per the directions...

My top was faded looking and I was considering replacing the whole thing but the Raggtop product made it look a LOT better.

Use the Cleaner as directed, and then follow with the Protectant for Fabric (canvas) tops as directed.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

so i checked out some raggtop products, but still not clear which ones i need.
sound like i should get
RaggTopp Fabric/Vinyl Cleaner
which comes in a spray bottle and use it to spray around on dirt on the top. after that wash it with cool water, dry it and use protectant. but do i use
RaggTopp Canvas Top Protectant
or
RaggTopp Vinyl Top Protectant
. do i need anything else? am i on the right track?
How do i apply protectant? Just spray it on?
The Raggtopp cleaner is for both fabric and vinyl tops. Use the Cleaner as directed, and then follow with the Protectant for Fabric (canvas) tops as directed.
I' ve been using these products for 5 years. It's good stuff.

You have a FABRIC convertible top so order the correct protectant. Just spray onto a clean top and immediately wipe the excess spray off your windows and paint. Unlike the Porsche protectant, you don't have to mask (unless you want to). Get lint off you top with a sticky lint roller.
I agree 100%. My top was faded looking and I was considering replacing the whole thing but the Raggtop product made it look a LOT better. I had the same question re: vinyl vs canvas. Its confusing. You want the canvas top product however.
Agreed on Raggtopp - I used the cleaner followed by the protectant 6 months ago and water still beads on my roof and it still looks like new. I have not had to reapply yet. I bought mine online, but can't remember where. You can find it easily doing a google search.
Performance is a board sponsor and they sell the cleaner and protectant in a kit at a savings. I have used Ragg Topp on both the Boxster and 996 and it is awesome. The overspray comes right off...even off of a plastic window as the case with the Boxster, although it does require a little work on the plastic window so if you have one that is the only place I would recommend masking off.
