Looks like most people either live with what you've got, or update it so Carplay is possible and you can then use third party apps like Waze etc:

Hello all, I've lost the traffic information (the blue arrows denoting congestion/queues) on the map screens. This happened after I updated the map on my UK 2013 991 4S running PCM3.1 using data bought from satnavshop.co.uk. Came on several USB sticks with good instructions/video. The installation upgraded PCM 3.1 from V4.73 to V4.76 then updated the map. Very easy, if time consuming, and all seems fine except that the traffic information is no longer shown. I can't find anything in the options to control this and I've contacted satnavshop.co.uk but they can offer no help on this specific issue. Not sure if I'm missing something or I need to toggle a setting but I can't find anything. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks, Sam

Thanks for the link. I have a much older version of PCM - Porsche Connect services didn't exist when I got the car back in 2013. PCM 3.1 as far as I'm aware doesn't connect to Porsche Connect. But shouldn't need to as I've had traffic information for the last ten years with no "external" link. At least I did have before the upgrade... I understand PCM 3.1 gets its traffic information from the FM/DAB radio.
