Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I have had both systems, with the latter a draw system there is a draw that takes the sim directly any network can be used (I use orange).

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just bought my first porsche - 996 carrera 4 - awesome. Having concentrated on driving it so far just getting to grips with the toys on board. It has a phone fitted which has a slot for taking a Sim card - not sure where to get a sim card holder or the best way to use the system. My blackberry's Sim card is particularly awkward to remove and I dont fancy doing this each time I get into the car. Is there a better way to use this system?
Hi,
The phone slot you describe is it the size of a credit card ?
If so just get a pay as you go sim card and use that.
I divert mine to my phone module...only down side is I pay for incoming calls through me diverting it from my phone to the car!
Mike
Thanks for that suggestion - yes the slot looks roughly credit card sized - just to clarify would you suggest buying a Sim card and insert it into the slot without snapping it out of the cardboard mount that they come in. Cheers Peter
There must be more than one design of these - my 2004 996 Targa has a little drawer for the SIM card and so you do have to snap it out of the credit card plastic surround.
I'm with Orange and I managed to get a second sim card supplied to me. This is set up so that if my car phone is on and my normal mobile is off, then the car receives calls to my normal number. Outgoing calls from the car show up as being from my normal number on the recipients phone.
So I just get in the car, turn my normal phone off and away I go. Curiously it doesn't work for texts, but I have never tried to work out why, it may be this can be fixed.
I remember being told that Orange allowed this but some providers don't but I don't know if that is true.
Would be interested to hear what other people do.

With the card holder only vodaphone or O2 sim will work, other networks as far as I know will not. This was because when this system was introduced vodaphone was really the only network solution. So your orange sim will not work.
