Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

No problem just make sure that both battery terminal are connected ok and go from battery post to battery post, its best to do positive first then negative, it reduces chances of shorting on bodywork, main thing to always be aware of of is NEVER disconnect battries whilst engine is running, by that I mean the terminals not the jump leads.

My posting to request above information was my effort at helping the gf out of her predicament of having a flat battery (which i have to say, I did warn her about when she was too scared to use the car in the snow).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just want to check! Other half's Mini wont start as it's been sitting for 2 weeks, am I ok to jump it from my C4? Having never needed to before with the Porsche, I don't want to find that for some bizarre Bavarian reason it self destructs! Ta Steve

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Unfortunately, due to excessive and i have to admit quite unnecessary amount of food that i have consumed over the last week, I have found myself in the supine position of lying on the sofa with macbook in hand. My posting to request above information was my effort at helping the gf out of her predicament of having a flat battery (which i have to say, I did warn her about when she was too scared to use the car in the snow). This is the first day that I have not had to drive hundreds of miles across the country or trek out in snow to see relatives & I was hoping to sit in front of the tv with the PS3 & play Modern Warfare II. At least this time I managed to get back to West Sussex from Oldham by sitting behind the wheel rather than in the back seat behind the driver of a flatbed lorry with the C4 on the back... Now that her car wont start it seems that I will have to move from the sofa and get my hands dirty. Guess I'll have to check that handbook!! Happy New Year Everyone
