Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Hi, had the dreaded clicking, whirring and dropping of the windows on trying to start the car yesterday, so I attached my trickle charger overnight - which I have used many times with the car to top up the battery during extended periods of no use.
Leading evidence: 'Use many times' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check fuse b7' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Braking or gear changes will cancel that set speed.

Just reading this thread and wouldn't mind asking if there's anything I might be doing wrong in trying to use the cruise control on my car (sorry for jumping in here)?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi, had the dreaded clicking, whirring and dropping of the windows on trying to start the car yesterday, so I attached my trickle charger overnight - which I have used many times with the car to top up the battery during extended periods of no use.
Car started no problems this morning but I noticed that I seem to have lost cruise control, when I press the end of the stalk the green light no longer comes on - and the cruise function definitely isnt there.
If the battery gets very flat do you lose functions - is there some sort of reset?
BTW the cruise function was added a couple of years ago, haven't lost it when the battery has been removed before though - so I can't believe its reverted to some sort of default setting ??
As John says, you shouldn't have lost the settings, but if you would like me to have a look and do the coding again if necessary let me know.
Edit: Might be an idea to check fuse B7.
Just reading this thread and wouldn't mind asking if there's anything I might be doing wrong in trying to use the cruise control on my car (sorry for jumping in here)? :?:
I follow the process as detailed in the owners/drivers manual (press the end knob, then push the lever forward when I've reached the desired speed) yet nothing happens. The green indicator light comes on the dash when I push the end knob but nothing happens whn I push the lever forward...... am I being a plank, missing something or might I have a problem?
Once cruise is activated (by pressing the end of the stalk - and the green dash light coming on), push the stalk forward and that sets the crusie speed to whatever speed you are currently doing.
Braking or gear changes will cancel that set speed.
Pushing the stalk downwards reduces the set cruise speed by 1mph
Think thats about it - or at least thats the extent of my experience with it - when it was working :?
Thanks Vlad, but I'd already done all of this with no success so I was wondering if anyone was aware of anything else I could try or perhaps what the problem could be.
