Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey there Porsche forum people in Los Angeles. I am driving a 2000 Boxster these days that needs a few things. I have done a few things that don't really need the car up in the air but hesitate to do some other things like coolant hoses, Motor mount etc without a lift. If anyone in the Los Angeles area is willing to trade lift time for wrench time help from me to work on your project I am up for that. I can afford to take the car to a shop however some things are just stupid expensive and I would prefer and enjoy doing most of the work myself. Send me a private message if you are interested.

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

OK so I did the coolant hoses, drive belt, and brake fluid bleed without you. Happy New Year.

POST 3Original post

A cheap way of getting increased access is to get a set of ramps and a sloped driveway. Drive the car onto the ramps and the combination of slope and ramps sticks the car up in the air. So your car doesn't press the ramp to slide down the driveway, put a chunk of 2by4 just in front of the ramp so the tire is a little elevated before it hits the actual ranp. Many things can be done this way.

POST 4Original post

good luck in your quest for a lift! I replaced my drivetrain with a jack and jack stands (and a cherry picker). A lot can be done by weekend warriors. Short on my lift is a set of quickjacks, but the damn bendpak acquisition increased prices 50%.... Maxjax makes some removable compact lift systems that look mighty tempting too.
