Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Cant find anything on this but have you ever seen a window behave like this: - YouTube Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube. youtube.com When the window is rolled all the way up it does this. As if it thinks the handle is being pulled to open the door. I can hear the microswitch clicking when i move the handle and it does seem to operate as you would expect when you open the door etc. Is there anything else besides that microswitch that would cause this? i think that's the only component that would affect this.

POST 2Original post

Never heard it clicking like that. Have you tried resetting the control by rolling the window all the way up and holding the switch for about 5 seconds? The exact procedure should be described in the owners manual. I think I found it:

POST 3Original post

Thanks for the instructions, yes i did try that a few times but wasn't sure if i actually needed disconnect the battery first (which i have not done) but i should try that first before swapping out the switch. I'll give that a shot.

POST 4Original post

Tried disconnecting the battery and setting the end points and the problem persisted. I just swapped out the microswitch on the handle and so far so good. I didn't have time to take photos but you have to remove the door panel 4 t-30 torx bolts, 2 under the handle to pull the door shut and one inside the trim piece that covers the side mirror electrical and on on the door jamb under the pop out door trim. One smaller torx to remove the handle which you can access by pulling the handle out. Electrical connections for the window button, speaker, light bulb and maybe one more item. Then its a bunch of torx bits to get the metal door cover off and let it hang on the window actuator bits. You have to remove the metal cup sandwiching the exterior handle to the door with two 10mm bolts, I used a ratcheting spanner wrench with the flexible head to get the correct angle. You are doing this part by feel since its tucked back inside the door and the metal door cover is kind of in the way. But its easy enough. After you get those two nuts off then the door handle is loose from the outside and you can pull it out (down and out) enough to expose the microswitch. That's simply held in place by a small channel, you have to bend the channel with your fingernail and slide it over the retaining pins, one at a time. Disconnect the switch and it should be free. Replace the switch, make sure the wire fits inside of the a rectangular cut out on the bottom of the metal cup when you go to bolt it down again so it doesn't pinch. I know that photos would probably be way more helpful but i wanted to make sure and follow up incase anyone else has this issue.
