The car does not seem to be using oil and it does clear after i have booted it, do you think it could be the air/oil seperator valve ?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys, i wonder if anyone can give me some advice, i have a 2002 c4s manual, not had it long, occasionally on start up it will smoke but not all the time. Once the engine is warmed up,( 80deg's) and i have been driving it for a while ,say half an hour, when i accelerate hard like comming off a slip road their is a lot of smoke pushed out. (blue) The car does not seem to be using oil and it does clear after i have booted it, do you think it could be the air/oil seperator valve ? I really like the car but this is really worrying. any help/advice will be gratefully reiceived.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks stuart, i have just read both of those threads, it does seem likely that the oil/air seperator may be faulty.

POST 4Original post

Almost certainly the oil separator from what you say. Not too expensive but worse (more labour) on a tiptronic.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
