Are the front calipers used on the 996 C4 (not C4S) the same as on the C2, 986 Boxster S and 987, other than the colour?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm hoping you lovely people can clear this up for me. Are the front calipers used on the 996 C4 (not C4S) the same as on the C2, 986 Boxster S and 987, other than the colour? Can anyone tell me the correct part number (NSF)? Even better, does anyone have a NSF/pair of C4 (titanium colour) caliper for sale... or a even a NSF/pair of red ones? I'm needing this quick as my car failed its MOT on brake pipes and when they went to change the pipes, snapped a nipple! The car is my daily driver so eager to get it sorted asap. Thanks! :thumb:

POST 2Original post

Yes I believe they are the same spec, other than colour. Can't help on part numbers as I'm in China and the internet access is basically sh!t. MC

POST 3Original post

Yes they're the same. How come the garage aren't sorting it? They snapped it.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

They say they were very careful but it was brittle due to age. Cant be arsed arguing... running out of garages around here that I haven't argued with! Thanks for the confirmation chaps. :thumb:

POST 5Original post

you should be able to get it drilled out, at worst case helicoiled.

POST 7Original post

I had one drilled out accurately, thread cleaned up and new nipple seat cut for £50 by a local engineer with a mill. Didn't take long at all.
