Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello forum, After replacing the fuel sending unit, this old nipple cracked inside the connector which I had to drill out. The result is that the connection while there isn't clicked in as before. I didn't take the 'after' picture as I was frustrated from install and putting the battery back on. I've looked in the catalogues and couldn't find this part in the diagram. First, can someone identify this part and two, as long as it is seated should this have much impact on the system as a whole until replaced. Thanks!

I think that’s the vent line for the fuel tank. It connects to the filler neck. You’ll need to get a new line because those hardline hoses are molded to the connectors. If you cut or heat it, the new connector won’t fit tight and you’ll get a check engine light for gaving an evaporator system leak.
