Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The fact that the dealer installed a radar detector was probably the root cause, but I suspect that we will never know.
Leading evidence: 'Install radar detector was probably the root cause' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'root cause' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Install radar detector was probably the root cause' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

After having my car for 1650 miles the PDK transmission decided to seize and had to be replaced, the first on the east coast (2010).

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Yes, Nick has made some good review videos and is now seeking Lemon Law protection. I feel bad about all his issues. My guess is he has electrical issues caused by all the stuff he has had wired in and the car is heavily optioned. He comes across as a nice guy and I hope he works this out to his satisfaction.
Where have the regional and national service managers been?
IMHO just deliver me a new - as originally configured - car. And give me a new loaner 911 until such is provided. Seems simple to me.
I feel for him. He seems like a nice gentleman with incredible patience.
I do not have his patience. I would have filed the Lemon Law papers long ago and been like a pit bull until a resolution had been provided.
I missed the mods during my first pass. It doesn't necessarily follow that the options he had installed caused the problems, but since his problems are so unique, it would be the first thing I'd eliminate.
Ken,
Would you mind elaborating on your post regarding "some inaccuracies". I/we (meaning the P9 community) would love to hear your thoughts. By the way, I've owned the first generation Cayman S and absolutely loved it. I ended up trading it for a 2014 Cayman S and love it as well.
A few reasons why I bought the Cayman over the 911 are as follows: 1) It's mid-engine layout. A true drivers car should be laid out this way. The balance and feel are exceptional. Other than buying an exotic, where else can you get this type of handling without spending supercar like money that's in a mid engine format? 2) With all due respect to the 911 and all of their owners, the Carrera has been around a while and are more common on the street. I wanted something different. Can I afford the 911? Sure. I love the 911 and it's iconic status. But, I think the 911 has evolved into more of a grand tourer. 3) Although I like convertibles, I didn't want the Boxter. The roof on the Cayman adds to its stiffness, therefore adding to it's feel, balance and responsiveness. Again, a true drivers car. The Cayman is a car that maximizes what the chassis in a mid engine layout has to offer.
Cheers to all 911, Boxter, Cayman, Cayenne and Panamera owners (and soon to be Macan owners). In the end, we all have great taste and love the cars we long to drive.

i feel sorry for the guy, i had issues with my porsche convertable top making some vibrating noise. my car went twice to the dealership, where it spent around 3 weeks during the 2 visits,
finally it didn't went away completelly it still comes and go, albeit now it is much lower,
so yes porsche have it shares of issues which is very frustrating for a high end german car.
best of luck for him.
x2 This should be the only acceptable, logical progression in such a case. Feel for ya man , that is horrible ! I hope they sort this out for you quickly.
wow you are a real trooper. I definitely do not have the patients that you do. I would like to think at this point Porsche will or has agreed to give you a new car exactly the same way if you want it with a little something for your problems. Something similar happened to me but not to your extent. After having my car for 1650 miles the PDK transmission decided to seize and had to be replaced, the first on the east coast (2010). I let Porsche fix it and things were fine. Later I had a stereo installed. Somehow both of the completely rusted out. As a goodwill gesture Porsche gave me some money towards new doors. I am curious what Porsche is doing for you? In the long run things will find a way to work out, they always do.
best of luck

Nick has released a new video about his saga. Overnight it has gotten over 600K views (warning language). I don't really know the definition of "viral" but the PAG Facebook page is buried in comments and its
the TOP story on Reddit
with 5,000 comments. There are two large and growing threads on RL and 6 speed.
Of course there are two sides to every story.
The fact that the dealer installed a radar detector was probably the root cause, but I suspect that we will never know. Making mods to modern cars should be undertaken with extreme care.
