Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hi there, I got a short question, my brother in law owns a 81, 911 SC in good condition, except for some minor dings and scratches on the hood. The car has about 110k miles down and has a professional rebuilt engine and transmission. This was done about 3-4 years ago and the car has been mostly sitting since than. It's located in Vegas and used to be a San Diego car, so rust is not an issue. A local porsche repair facility in Nevada, offered him 13k$ for the car (as is) and is saying it would sell for about 20k$ if the following things are taken care off: repaint hood to remove some dings and scratches new headliner new dashboard redo the cracked seats And the quoted him about 6k$ for these items. I kinda have the feeling that 13k$ for a 911 is a bit low and would think with the fixed hood, etc it should be more in line in the mid 20s to low thirties? Is this realistic, or are I'm dead wrong about this? thanks for your help, g.

mid 20's to high 20 if its in A-1 conditon.. Lemon

POST 3Original post

Condition and service records are very important. Pcar owners and wannabes are picky; bad paint can mean a $4K - $10K expenditure; bad interior - more $$$. One in immaculate condition would bring mid-20s easily. Originality counts too ... OEM parts, mods kept to a minimum ...

I agree with the above comments but if you want some more validation get a hold of a few issues of "Excellence". There is even an annual pricing guide. You can get some good ideas there.
