Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The "repairer" replaced the damaged panels with good used panels, and replaced the radiators with what I believe are new off the shelf Behr radiators.

I am using my phone and new to this site, but I only have one pm from another member
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
42 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

I have a 2001 996 C2 Cabriolet 6-spd that I am going to begin parting out.
The car is complete with some new parts.
The engine is probably shot, but I will know more by the end of the week.
The car has a true 60,675mi on it, so mechanicals are sound.
Let me know what you need and we can discuss prices.
I am VERY reasonable, I want the parts gone sooner rather than later.
Cheers
I've replied to FirstPorsche in a PM, but since his request was actually the third such request I've received to buy the whole car I thought some clarification was in order.
This car looks nice in this photo, but believe me it is a "10 - footer".
The car has a Salvage title due to a right-front collision. A rather crude and quick repair was performed long before I purchased the car for some parts I needed.
The "repairer" replaced the damaged panels with good used panels, and replaced the radiators with what I believe are new off the shelf Behr radiators. However the damage under the skin was not properly repaired and it is not difficult to spot the damage.
I really wouldn't feel good putting someone in this car that thought they were going to get it back on the road.
This car is a documented 60K mi car so I do look forward to getting the good mechanical parts back out on the market to help out the community.
I believe this is the best way this car can contribute to the Porsche community, but if someone insists on buying the entire car I won't stand in their way.
As it sits today I would ask $6000 for the complete car.
I have received a number of interest emails for parts so I do suspect the parts will start going away soon.
Let me know what you need, As I said in my previous post I am very reasonable on parts and I want to get this car out there.
I'm in the Seattle area.
The transmission is in good, and it's ready to go.
I've looked around at prices, and I think I'd like to get about $2000 for the trans.
I think that is a pretty great price for a 60K mi trans.
Let me know if you want it
The maddeningly complex answer to that is - Maybe.
The guy I bought the car from said he had the headlight at his house and would get it to me, but now he isn't retuning calls, so I can't say for sure I have it.
I'll reach out to him again and see if I can get my hands on it.
Do you still have the convertible top cover(fabric covered piece over the auto roll bars part number 996 555 083 02)? If so, how much and what condition is the overall condition? I am not concerned with the fabric as i can get it recovered. I am more concerned with the plastic and aluminum under structure.
Thanks,
Al
I think I just sent a reply to ALW911. The interface from pelican to email to my phone and back is weird. I do have those parts. Let me know or let me know if you didn't get my message.
Hi there
Did your seller come up with the other headlight?
How are the tails? I have a dark blue car and I have considered tinting them?
Thanks
Todd

For everyone who messaged me thank you for your patience. I was out of town for about a week and had limited access to my accounts via my phone.
I still have most of the parts available, but I am starting to sell many of the smaller items.
I listed the 6-speed transmission locally for $2000 obo.
if someone needs this trans. it has only 60Kmi on it Make me an offer.
Please let me know what you need or are interested in.
I haven't torn the motor apart yet, because of my trip. It's sitting on the stand ready for an autopsy.
Update for anyone looking at this post and considering parts:
I am starting to move more small parts and random bits from the car.
The Front seats are gone and the steering wheel is spoken for, but not gone quite yet.
let me know what you are interested in and how much you would like to pay for it.
Lets make some deals.
Does anybody have any interest or need for the completely bare shell of this 2001 996 Cabriolet?
I am considering completely disassembling the car and shelving all of the parts. If I do this I will have the bare shell and would like to sell it to someone cheap, rather than sending it to the crusher for the price of scrap steel.
I ask this because years ago I sold an E30 convertible very cheap and then received a call from a body shop that would have paid me more because they needed the whole rear clip.
Interest?
What is the lowest you can possibly go on the transmission? I am still not sure yet if I will try getting mine fixed but if I can get a good enough price on a used one I may just do that.
The rolling chassis is now sold.
I still have the front clip (fenders and bumper cover) available for sale, as well as the wheels, Transmission, and complete engine.
The engine is blown, and I have not had time to tear it down yet, but it is complete with all accessories and is for sale as-is, or as parts.
I also still have the complete exhaust system with Mufflers and Cats, all in great shape.
I have the ECU and the immobilizer M535 with a matching key fob.
Front fenders, Wheels, Air Pump all for sale still as well.
Not sure if it will fit my '02 C4S but do you have me the right rear leather seat pad? Is it black? I made the mistake of putting a cooler in my back seat and a nice cube fell out, melted, and jacked ip my seat! I can't spell the words I said when I saw the seat ruined!!!!
Are you asking about the Engine Sump cover? I do have that. If you are asking about any of the plastic cladding from under the chassis I do not have any of that remaining.
I do still have the transmission and it is still for sale. I also have the engine, but unfortunately no more information. Just as I was preparing to open it up I got busy and haven't gotten back to it yet.
I you are interested in either or both let me know
