Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Does anyone have the part number for the electrical cable that disables the rear spoiler when you change to a GT3 rear spoiler, as on the 996 gen 1 its a cable not coded out ? Steve Dickens

POST 2Original post

The harness part number is 996 612 070 51, but your parts guy will confirm. You're right it can't be coded out. Not a lot can on 996.1s. :thumb:

POST 3Original post

Loom is around £80 IIRC. There is a way of jumping two wires to fool the car its okay. I looked into it but have obviously become used to the red light on the dash as its still on a year or so later...

POST 4Original post

My 996 came with Factory Aerokit. When I swapped back to standard spoiler, I didn't have to re-activate it. It seems the Aerokit looms is wired to deactivate the warning as I didn't have to reactivate the Standard pop up spoiler - I just worked.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thanks for all the help I will order the wiring when I can.
