Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Has anyone added the factory sport mode button/program to a car without PCM? I have searched on the topic, and have not seen this particular question discussed. My 10 Cayman has neither the sport mode nor PCM. My local dealership told me sport mode cannot be added to a non PCM car, the gents @ Suncoast say you can, you just don't get some of the features. Wondering if its my local dealer not wanting to deal with adding it, or do they know something Suncoast does not? TIA

POST 2Original post

TIA, Sorry I didn't see this earlier, but YES is the answer to your question. I am in the same boat and my local P dealer is more than willing to match online pricing and install for an added fee. There is a recent post here of one member adding Sport Mode software and a paddle shift PDK steering wheel at a local P dealership. Regards, Graeme

POST 3Original post

I am that guy that had it (and the paddle steering wheel) added to my 987.2 Cayman last month. My '09 does not have PCM. Since you are in CA, which almost certainly means a few different dealerships in your general area, I would find another dealer to get it done. Search for my thread/post on it to glean a bit more info. It is simply an awesome upgrade and well worth the money. So much more performance at the push of a button anytime you want it. Sport+ (relaxes PSM, no OD, etc.) is for PDK cars only. My cost was about $225 labor (includes PCA discount) and $1,225 parts (tax included). I spent a little more to buy the parts at the dealer, mainly due to sales tax and I'm glad to do that. They matched the online prices pretty well. Good luck, Eddie

POST 4Original post

I added it to my 2007 Cayman. I don't have PCM either, and it was no problem. I did not opt for the dash clock.

POST 5Original post

thanks for the responses gents! I live in sandy eggo and have essentially 2 options, SD Porsche (the ones who said it cant be done without PCM) and Hoehn up in Carlsbad. I have never gone to Hoehn before maybe its time.

POST 6Original post

Try Hoehn or Walters Riverside (Richard in Parts). Have your VIN handy and they can confirm if it available for your car. Sport Chrono is going into my car tomorrow at Walters.
