Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My 996 TT seems to be running 1.2bar. Standard K16s or should I take a closer look?

POST 2Original post

Take a look. Big Dave 'll be along in a moment to put you straight.

POST 3Original post

A standard 996tt will boost to 0.6/0.7 bar. Sometimes if you come off the power suddenly you may see 0.8/0.9 or even 1.0 on the digital display. An X50 will normally boost to 0.8/0.9. Mapped cars will be between 0.9 and 1.3 bar. When I had the Revo mapping on mine it was typically 0.9 bar. With the Parr map it hits 1.1 bar quite happily. Has your car always ran at 1.2 or is it something that has just started. Does it boost to that level everytime or only occassionally if you come off the power. A quick fire way to tell if it is mapped or not is to accelerate hard thru 2nd 3rd and 4th gears. If you run out of road and your internal organs have become detached from where they shouldn't it is likely you have a mapped car.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Was told it was Simtis (?) mapped. Runs 1.2bar on boost. Not much standard on the car (brakes, coilovers, etc). As for choosing a Dyno does this sound okay for a fan arrangement "996 Turbo isn't too bad. (one massive fan to one side at front, secondary fan at the rear)" (Dastek). Good outfit and are used to run big powered cars on their rollers.

POST 5Original post

Any other modifications? Exhaust, induction, intercoolers etc? As for the cooling for the Dyno hopefully someone with more knowledge than me can advise.

POST 6Original post

Simtis are the old "revo" Mitchell maps... suprised you see 1.2 bar from that map on k16's tho. Which rolling road are you using ?

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

RR I'm thinking of using is Dastek. Is it common for 911 TT owners to use generic maps as opposed to custom maps?
