Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I believe they have to be set up correctly when fitted so I wouldn't be wanting to do that myself as I don't have the equipment to do it.
Leading evidence: 'Install so i wouldn't be wanting' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Install so i wouldn't be wanting' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Will getting this repaired actually feel different in my performance?

I looked into replacing both actuators from porsche but the were £240 each (I think)

Suggestion
If the actuator still works, you may be able to piece it back together and set the length by measuring the O/S actuator.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all,
Found out today whilst my car 996TT 2003 was undergoing an MOT that the N/S Turbo Actuator Rod / Arm was corroded and had snapped very close to the wastegate lever, (end of the rod). This didn't affect the MOT.
Some questions:
1) Does anyone know a better / cheaper option to buy this part other than the main dealer? (Part 99612311571).
2) Looking at the corrosion I would suggest that the rod was broken for quite some time. Does this mean that my n/s turbo was not running? Will getting this repaired actually feel different in my performance?
3) Found this site
http://www.turbo-kits.com/996tt_turbo_kits.html
It appears they sell a kit where by you actually increase performance and furthermore they are a lot cheaper than buying just one original from the main dealer! Does this look like a good way to go?

4) If someone offered just to weld the rod together, would that be a good or bad idea? Because if there was any length difference, would this not affect the opening and closing of the wastegate and the pressures that contol this?
Sorry for all the questions!! Very much look forward to your replies!
I just ordered one through an indy a couple of weeks ago. I think it was about £240 for the part and £110 for labour to fit. I was driving the car there and back but I was keeping it off boost just in case.
I believe they have to be set up correctly when fitted so I wouldn't be wanting to do that myself as I don't have the equipment to do it. On the other hand you could supply the parts to your indy and have him fit/setup.
I've had a similar problem with my 2003 N/S Turbo, my wastegate was seized but the actuator was ok. I looked into replacing both actuators from porsche but the were £240 each (I think)
.
I then looked at the ones you have posted which are alot cheaper, they open at 1 bar compared to the 0.7 bar standard actuators. If you fit these I think you will need a remap, they will also need setting up correctly.
KKK won't sell the actuators seperatly.
If the actuator still works, you may be able to piece it back together and set the length by measuring the O/S actuator. This would be the cheapest option.
Good Luck
