Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that report identifying a cause
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Reported cause
Changed mine at 55000, it was the original when stripped down. The pedal was about half way but it was creaking and really getting hard to depress.
Leading evidence: 'original' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'original' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace all, and the rms at the same time' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
More cost effective long term to change all, and the RMS at the same time.

Suggestion
I personaly dont think it needed changing but last year I had the RMS replaced as the OPC gave a good price and my Warrantee company paid most of the bill.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just wondered what sort of wear people are getting. I realise that wear is mainly determined by how hard the car has been driven.
My car was new in 2002 and has 35k on the clock.
Pedel travel is "middle of the road" .
What do you think? Do I need to start bugdeting for a clutch and RMS :?:
My car is a 2003 model and has done over 100,000 miles.
I personaly dont think it needed changing but last year I had the RMS replaced as the OPC gave a good price and my Warrantee company paid most of the bill.
As the car was in for the RMS I asked the OPC to change the clutch at the same time as it was the original clutch and a price was agreed.I had a phone call from the OPC to say that there was plenty of meat left on the clutch so they were not going to change it.
So start saving for a new clutch when you have done another 100,000 miles.
69000 miles and the Mechanic said" YOU HAVE CERTAINLY HAD YOUR MONEYS WORTH
I guess it varies somewhat depending on how you and your previous drive, where you live and if your lady rides it on a hill.
Half way up means there is life left in it yet.
Had ours changed at 48k as the engine was having an oil leak fixed under warranty and it was just the cost of the parts to have teh clutch done at the same time.
Probably about 1/2 worn when changed. New clutch meade the car drive much nicer though - I was surprised how light it came back. Note of the 48k, 25k was in one year by the previous owner, so probably all motorways.

The return spring plate more worn than the clutch plate as that seemed to have reasonable wear left.
More cost effective long term to change all, and the RMS at the same time.
The new clutch was very light by comparison & as I am very careful with the car I expect significant miles from this one!
