Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

Seems to me that you get a Porsche that uses a lot or none with not much in-between.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So I popped the Cayman GTS into my local Porsche Centre (Cardiff) to have my summer wheels refitted They did a quick health check and told me they had to top up the oil with about 1 litre. The car has only done 3,700 miles but Porsche Cardiff reckon it's completely normal to use up to 1 litre every 1,000 miles No wonder there's no scheduled oil change for 2 years, all the oil will be renewed at least twice in that time

POST 2Original post

I've had 911s that have used a lot of oil and some that used virtually none. A litre in the first 4000 miles hardly seems something to get worked up about

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

DoubleThink said: I've had 911s that have used a lot of oil and some that used virtually none. A litre in the first 4000 miles hardly seems something to get worked up about That's reassuring, thanks

POST 5Original post

7k miles, no oil added, but then the electrodashdipstick hasn't budged.

POST 6Original post

I've done coming up to 11k (in a 981) and haven't added any oil. According to the computer the levels are fine. Now I'm starting to question the sensor!

POST 7Original post

Had oil changed in 981 BS at 10k with no oil loss, now 16k and according to computer still no oil loss. Seems to me that you get a Porsche that uses a lot or none with not much in-between.
