I had the dent removed using paintless dent removal in order to get the area flat again and then used touch-up paint and Langka.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So just after this SUV pulls out in front of me (cuts me off) and before I have time to slow to create a safe following distance, a rock about 1-1/2 inches long by 3/4 inch flys off his tire and hits squarely on the front deck, then to the windshield. Best repair advice sought by all.

POST 3Original post

I got clobbered by a dirt truck several years ago. A big dirt clod loaded with rocks came flying off and put a fair sized dent and broke the paint on my hood a bit lower than yours. I had the dent removed using paintless dent removal in order to get the area flat again and then used touch-up paint and Langka. I'm sure you could do the same with the Dr. Colorchip system.

POST 4Original post

It can be very difficult to repair, especially to make it much less noticeable than it already is. If it is filled and cleared the divot will be gone but a mismatched spot will still be there. The only way I know of is to do a miniature conventional repair. Sand, fill, paint, clear and polish. You will end up with as large of resprayed area as necessary which will hinge upon the repairers ability to properly match the color and metallic texture of the original paint. This could be less than an inch or up to the whole hood, depending upon the paint match and the skill level of the painter. Check around till you find the expert, talk is cheap BTW. GL

you will always see it, but can lessen the look and keep it from propigating by using a system "like" chip Dr... I would check the concourse guys or over on Autopia (search) there is a lot of info out there sorry about the chip - sucks! I had a stone about 1/2 the size of a golf ball whack the ? rubber ? on my car, flip straight up and gently hit mid widshield, rool down and sit right on my wiper (on the freeway about a month ago) I dont know what or why it didnt cause a dent or broken windshield, but had it not hit something like the rubber front bumper it would have made a mess....
