I am looking to find a way of connecting my ipod to the audio system that doesn't involve using a casette or FM transmitter (or replacing PCM 1).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was hoping that someone might be able to help me. I have a Facelift 996 with the PCM 1 system installed with the 6CD changer. I am looking to find a way of connecting my ipod to the audio system that doesn't involve using a casette or FM transmitter (or replacing PCM 1). Have any of you managed this successfully, and if so how much did it cost ? Many thanks Mark

POST 2Original post

if it isnt Most (with the fibre optic) which i didnt think PCM 1 was, you could replace the cd changer connection with a unit from www.solisto.de which i used to have in mine connected to a CDR21 / Becker 4720 which gives you full ipod connection and charge etc, failing that there are systems from moonbridge which do similar and seem to get better feedback also the denison gateway units i think can be fitted. thats if you want to keep the original look and stick with pcm 1, an easier route might just to repalce it with a new double din nav system which does everything (which is what ive just done!) Jon
