Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Not sure, as I bought the car used with 34k miles and I changed the filter at 40k per the maintenance schedule.
Leading evidence: 'Replace filter at 40k per the maintenance schedule' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean * $35 stock paper filter, though, just saying' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

You might have noticed similar gains swapping to a *clean* $35 stock paper filter, though, just saying.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Im still looking at intake system for our cars. And it appears everyone has the most faith in the EVOms intake for actual gains. But then i came accross this, has anyone seen this?
Schnell Power Flow Air Inhaler Filter Kit Cayman 06-10
It appears to have the same info was the EVO intake, with the venturi system etc. But its alot cheaper. Has anyone used it or has more info? Is this just a typo?!
Looks like a rip-off of the EVO Intake. I don't know what they mean by the venturi, this is simply a cone filter attached to an adapter plate to fit the intake box.
Not only that, it is the same picture, just with the shadow and the logo painted out...

This appears to be the same case as the DesignTek Intake for the
Cayman
- which straight copy/pastes the description of the EvoMs kit - No idea if these companies have a license agreement with EVoM and therefore the difference is just in the 'brand' or if it is shameless plagiarism without consent. Worse still it could be a completely unrelated product, which makes the copying even worse.
Either way, until there is clarification its all very shady, which is why I would not buy either DesignTek or this Schnell myself.
Remember just because its aftermarket doesn't make it better, they could sell you an absolute lemon which gives worse performance than stock - all you know about this product is they have copied the EvoMs description...
EDIT: If Evolution Motorsport have given these companies license to use this description and the product itself is a licensed resale then I'm sorry for the scaremongering, but since I can't find any information about a connection between the two I have to assume in the negative.
Sooo I ended up buying the intake finally and trying it. And I LOVE IT!! Fitting it in the airbox was pita. But once i got it in man did i feel a difference. It really woke the car up.
Maybe because my stock paper filter was completely filthy and robbing me of horsepower. When i pulled it out and threw it on the ground it look like a dust bomb exploded. I definitely noticed some gains from this. Worth the $200 in my opinion
I completely fail to understand why a venturi in an intake system is a good thing. There is always a pressure loss across a venturi and a perfect intake (without ram effect) has zero loss.
Not sure, as I bought the car used with 34k miles and I changed the filter at 40k per the maintenance schedule.
I dunno, it can't be purely just being restricted from HP, I feel like it has to be a combination of both. The car is much more fun to drive
A properly constructed venturi speeds the air (or water) in a way that causes the pressure in the restriction to fall, as the air accelerates.
You want to slow the air down around the intake, so that its pressure is as high as possible, so as to aid induction.
It also aids low RPM induction:

I realize this is an old post but it appears that there are three companies now selling the V-Flow, EVOMS,
Fabspeed
, & Schnell.
Porsche 987.2 Boxster / Cayman V-Flow Air Intake System - Fabspeed Motorsport
Porsche Cayman 987 Performance Intake EVOMS
Porsche Power Flow Air Inhaler Filter Kit Schnell
Does anyone know if these are exactly the same? Possibly manufactured at the same warehouse and shipped to the different companies with different or no labels on them, and priced widely apart.
Has anyone gone from the BMC or K&N filter to the V-Flow and did it make a difference?
Rehashing this...
Any more updates on the 3 V-Flow filters from Evoms, Schnell and
Fabspeed
(I think
Fabspeed
just sells that Evoms and not has their own labeled version)?

how was your schnell? did you get another or you've switch back to stock?
Have you tried a Schnell and is it really the equal in terms of design, contruction, materials and quality? If it is, hard to imagine Evoms would not have taken Schnell to court unless there is some sort of OEM arrangement with slight variations of sorts between the 2. Anyone know if there is an inside story?
So Vertex has come back to say that the
fabspeed
variant of this v-flow filter is oiled.
I've asked them for the difference to the Schell and evoms. Hopefully they will reply again.
I put the EVOM on shortly after purchasing my car, very high quality part, oil less and the machining was top notch. How much HP, my butt felt a difference and you can now hear the air intake sucking the air...I felt it was worth it with the unknown mileage on the factory stuff.
