I checked around for something that would fit in that space that would hold registration, insurance and repair receipts and found a folio on Amazon from a supplier named PlusXpres that fits perfectly.

I just picked up a '99 911 Carerra. I noticed my heavily used owners manual was in the trunk and figured I'd leave it there as it has a rather musty odor. I also noticed the shelf under the steering column was empty and figured it would be good for normal glove box stuff. I checked around for something that would fit in that space that would hold registration, insurance and repair receipts and found a folio on Amazon from a supplier named PlusXpres that fits perfectly. It was very in expensive, has a small amount of vinyl but is mostly a gray nylon fabric very similar to the owners manual case.

Well the product is inexpensive and it fits the tray perfectly. I've read a number of posts about how useless the shelf is with many saying they don't know what to use it for. First post or hundredth post, I was just trying to be helpful.
