Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello - does anybody have a picture of the laser unit that sits inside a PCM 1 sat nav cd player (referring to the unit under the screen where you insert the sat nav disk)? I keep getting told my "cd is upside down" when its not, so I think the laser has stopped working correctly which is confusing the unit. It is NOT because my CD is incorrect or scratched - I have also used CD cleaners. Thanks in advance.

POST 2Original post

i had the same problem with mine but it seems to have cured itself....... maybe its just me but it seemed to coincide with the car going in for some work and the battery being unplugged for a period?? I will admit that this was one of the cures that Gill at Quicksilver automotive suggested when it first happened and i never got round to doing it.... maybe worth a try? toohey

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Toohey, I really appeciate the response. I think I might give that a shot tonight - I do have my PCM code but because it was not my car from new I'm hoping it hasn't be changed. Cheers
