Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
If the bolts holding the corners were one of those butterfly types that are easy to unscrew, it would be easy to clean any of that condensation.
Leading evidence: 'Clean any of' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean any of' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

K-man S, did you have a chance to work more on that clear engine cover project?
I would love to be able to see the engine, instead of that carpet. Hopefully with not too much more of the noise inside, so the W.A.F. is high.
That's funny I have a call into the plastics place right now waiting on a response, I will let you know what I find out. Early project costs were in the $299-$399 range. Is that acceptable?
ooooohhhh yeah thats acceptable
will the cover be a show-only cover with no real heat dissipation? Or could it possibly be something we can drive around with?

I am actually tired of questions like "where the heck is the engine, you have two trunks?"
Cayman engine is beautyfull (you ever seen how
HEMI
looks like, FUGLY!!!), I would love to be able to admire it, just like
HEMI
-frankenstein in my stable.
Price, yes if I can have the cover on at all times, not just for shows, hell yes! For autoX and track I can put the metal one back on.
I salute the impulse, but the engine is not worth looking at. It would take ALOT of plastic parts being made in cast/painted/plated metal to make it anythig but ugly. I'm just going by the engine cover removal article.
Its not ugly but there is not much to see. I've had the cover off both my Boxters and the Cayman when replacing the air filters and basically all you can see are a few hoses and the intake runners (both black) The clear cover wouldn't look bad but its not like the Ferrari engines that are dressed up specifically so they look good under glass.
You start with getting a clear cover. Than you develop appetite for engine dress up
I am thinking about putting some very low profile
LED
strips so they light up the engine a bit (like in
Audi
R8), there will be plenty to see
Yes that price does sound great, but may I ask what are the downsides? Noise? Heat? I can't remember from the discussions last year. And wasn't there a photo at one time?
thanks Russ
The engine is butt ugly unless you bling it up. And the condensation from driving it would not probably not allow you to see it anyway. It would be better as a "show" tool than an everyday tool.
This is how my engine looks on the Magnum, no wonder it comes with a cover from the factory (which is off in this case):
Are you telling me Cayman engine is not nicer looking?
If the bolts holding the corners were one of those butterfly types that are easy to unscrew, it would be easy to clean any of that condensation.
