After reading this thread decided to check my local tyre company, quoted £114 each fitted for PZero Rosso's 225/40 R18's

I run Rosso's on my GT2 :thumb: ......never had much to moan about with them except that when the rears get really hot the car starts to move about a bit but it's progressive and actually easy/fun to control unlike some other tyres which are probably better up to a point but can let go in a more dramatic fashion.

I was rather suprised that the PHers recommended the Pirellis, but I don't have a 996 so I didn't want to butt in.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

After fitting two new P Zeros (Asimetrico) on the back of my 996, I took it in for an MOT this morning, only failing on a front tyre....didn't see that one coming!!!! I've just been on the Kwik-Fit website to order another Asimetrico and book it in only to find that they only do P Zero Rossos on that tyre size (225/40/18) at £117. The previous owner must have changed the tyres individually hence there being one significantly worn more than the other. Would there be a problem putting Rossos on the front and having Asimetricos on the back, from a budget point of view.....HELP!!!

I know this isn't what you want to hear, but I'd buy two Conti or Michelin fronts, and wear out the rears as fast as possible.

Steering and front grip never causes any issues, wet, dry or hot.
IMO, Pirelli's are good and will in effect, "talk to/warn you" before suddenly shoving you off the road....unlike other tyres such as cups.
Porsche N-rate them so you can't go far wrong.
That's impressive, I researched prices on line a couple weeks ago and the cheapest I saw PZero Rossos N4 in 225/40 18 was £157 fitted at Event Tyres. Who did you use and how hard did you have to haggle!?
Hi, i had Michelin pilots on my 996 then end of september 09 changed to pirelli pz rosso, pretty good but the rear tyres wear out very quickly - in my case just under 3 months - rear size 295/30/18. Porsche Reading quoted £574 got them from Protyres (slough) N5 for £460 for 2 rear.
I think although a little more dosh - the michelin PS last a lot longer with same use.
No haggle, just a quick phone call £97 for fitting, balance and disposal of old tyres +vat which brings it up to £114. Company based in Suffolk, will be getting tyres fitted today will let u know how it all goes.
