Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I had my 19" Carrera Sport wheels powder coated black (on the spokes and on the inner drum) by Motomotion in Medina, OH. The picture stinks, but they look terrific according to EVERYONE. I'll try to get a better picture later. Total cost: $1,139.50 and included the powder coating inside and outside, wheel balancing, painting the center caps and cleaning up (sand blasting, etc.) the lug nuts. Later this month I'm having the car lowered 1.2" with Eibach springs to complete the look.

It looks awesome, especially on the SY. I am trying to get mine done but it is proving harder than I thought here in Chicago. How long does the process take to do 4 wheels? Congrats...the croc looks great:cheers:

POST 5Original post

Now that is a lot of painters tape on them CSes

POST 6Original post

Thanks for the positive comments! Thanks ... as I was very worried about the final outcome of the wheels. After all, the wheels looked pretty darn perfect before I had them powder coated. I felt that I was taking a big risk but I couldn't be happier with the result. Plus, I just did that "exhaust-pipe-clamp slide over thingy" last night and my car sounds incredible. The sound and those black wheels match perfectly. Hey Silent Will ... they kept my car for five days. One of those days was for detailing my car and the detailing cost me only $50 of the final bill (of $1,139.50). So, four days in total to do the wheels. I highly recommend having the inside (the drum) of the wheels powder coated as well. With only ten spokes to the wheel, it's very easy to see inside the wheel to the drum, calipers and brake rotor. Having the drum in black makes all other things in the wheel stand out really nicely. This place (Motomotion.com) charged me $50 per wheel for that service; thus, $200 of the final bill. I had the MAJOR luxury of having this company located in my vicinity - just 30 miles away. I just dropped my car off with them for those five days and saved a bundle of money on shipping my wheels. I don't know how much it costs to ship four wheels ... and I shudder to even think about it.

turbo996.... how do you do this exhaust-pipe-clamp thing you discuss? I have seen a couple of threads, but don't really know what everyone is talking about, or what the advantages are.... I assume it sounds cool, so I'm in.... Thanks.
