This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

I know there are several posts concerning this but I still have to ask the question. Is there any company that manufactures a reasonably priced thicker steering wheel for the Cayman? The Tech Art wheel is beautiful but $2,000 after sending back the core seems to me to be too much. I can't get used to the standard 3 spoke triangular anemic wheel after driving a much thicker wheel in my previoius Audi S4's for the past 7 years.

POST 2Original post

I thought TechArt's was about $1300 after sending back the stock wheel..

POST 3Original post

That's what I thought until they sent me a confirmation of $2580.00. I had actually justified $1350.00 in my mind (although my wife wouldn't think it reasonable) but $1950.00 just seems to be too much

POST 4Original post

In another thread I suggested mating the BMW wheel from the m coupe to the porsche column but nobody took me seriously. The BMW wheel is amazing. I am not sure how hard it would be to make an adaptor. RAID makes aftermarket wheels at an ok price, and they are airbag wheels as well, but I don't think they really are much better than the stockie.

POST 5Original post

I agree, maybe members from the UK can help on this issue. I understand there are still old world craftsmen that re-stitch leather steering wheels in London and their work are first rate. They can make the steering wheel thicker & will be relativley inexpensive compare to TechArt or after market.

POST 6Original post

Not just old world craftsmen in London, I am sure any custom leather upholstery shop with experience on cars might consider it. But it could be messy.

POST 7Original post

Any steering wheel for $2000, should have a car already attached to it.

POST 8Original post

There was a thread here somewhere about using a GT3 wheel. I was at a PCA HPDE this weekend and sat in a GT3 to "feel" the wheel. Might be worth a look and a call to Jeff at Sunset Imports.

POST 11Original post

Hey!!! That's the same company! The guy Alan is a real dip $hit...but like I said...EVENTUALLY...they got my order completed.

POST 12Original post

What was the quality like? Do you have any installed photos?

POST 13Original post

Like I said...their workmanship is EXCELLENT....just their level of customer service is VERY POOR.
