I just finish with replacing my original adaptive sportseat with a Recaro racing seat. I only have it on the driver side, because my wife prefer the original seat. It is so nice to sit in, I get a bit lower and on a trackday I will remove the cushion for som extra lowering.
Anybody know if it is an easy way to get the warning light for airbag to be turned off?
Should this be done at a workshop or is it some way to do it by myself?
Regards
Nils
You need the Porsche scanner, a dealer or a very good shop can do for you.
P.S. there have been many threads on this
do a search using handles (mooty or sleepless) you will find very detailed info of how to do that.
but you have to take it to dealer. no one else will have the PIWIS tool needed.

Pls post a pic of the Recaro fitted in car. Thx!
Hello and thank you for your answers!
I go to a dealer.
I am very satisfied with my new seat (Pole Position), it is not very expensive and easy to install.
Even if it is a racingseat I think it is more comfortable than the original adaptive sportseat.
It is also possible to get it in leather, but I like the fabric.
Enclosed is some pictures of the seat in my car.

Really nice job. They look great. Let us know what you think of them - comfort, grip, positioning etc - after some decent seat time in them.
Dude, you gotta change both, tell ur wife tuff. Its a sportscar, to me it looks wierd especially since one is cloth and the other leather.
I do agree with Ed here though!
yeah, change both of them... it looks funny
Are you going to install a harness bar and racing belts - or just continue to use the OEM 3-point belt?
By now I am only going to use the OEM 3 point belt. I use to have the same seat in my Boxter S so I know the seat well. It is very comfortable for long trips as well as it is a good autocross and trackdayseat. I am 188 cm tall and it gives me better legroom than the original seat.On trackdriving I slide the seat back, tighten and lock the belt and then move the seat forward again. You pretty good locked up then. I think that a good seat is one of the first thing to put into a car like the Cayman if you want to do something with it at all. With that grip and turn in you will be a better driver with a seat like this. You dont have to use any power to be in the seat.
If it looks weird, I realy dont care. When selling the car I have a new drivers seat to put back in the car.. Also when going on a holiday to Germany with som 275 km/h on the Authobahn(I actually had 285 on the meter), my wife is smiling in her adaptive sportseat and I in my Recaro, life is just nice. Drop her off for some shopping while I do some rounds on the Nurburgring and Hockenheim.Everybody is happy.
If I will install racingbelt I am not sure if I put in a harness bar. If you remove the carpet on the wall behind the seat you will find a square?? tube on the top where you can have the belt around.
Pole Position seat with ABE: 070.77.0184 Euro 600
Mounting bracket in steel: 7207450 Euro 75
Slider: 364954 Euro 75
I bought this here in Norway but I think this should not be far from the recommended retailprices in Germany. You can also get the mounting brackett in aluminium.
It is just to bolt on, very easy to do by yourself.
Hope this will help you.
Nils
Everything is Recaro. If you look at page 5 on the webside below anf page 15 on the one below that you will find the slider and the brackets. Does it help you?
