Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Let it dry a couple of days then run your finger on the dots and the film will adhere better between the dots.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I had 35% placed all around on my CS and it looks great! There is only one problem with tiniting the windows... The little black bubbles painted onto the windows kind of repel the film. It stuck very well to the front two windows, but is having some trouble on the back glass... Anyone else have this problem? My tint guy says that I need to wait about 2 days so that the film can dry out a bit. Then, maybe I can squeegee the film around the dots on the back glass. Can't say that I am the happiest about that... If I wanted defects, I would have bought a GM.

POST 2Original post

IMO I think the defroster plays a role in the rear window having trouble adhering to the glass. Try and leave your car out in the sun for a couple of days. That helped mine quite a bit.

POST 3Original post

The black dots will never be 100%. Had the same issue on my Mini Cooper. Let it dry a couple of days then run your finger on the dots and the film will adhere better between the dots. It won't be perfect so don't get your expectations too high.

POST 4Original post

there is actually a blackout film that is matte black and solid-blocks out 100% of light. What tinters do is put this up to where the dots start so there will be a straight black line instead of the gradient dots. Then the tint is put over it. It looks alot cleaner.

POST 5Original post

I had 30% done all around and my guy did an excellent job. I never had any problems with the dots and it looked great when I left the shop. He even removed the 3rd brake light and did not cut around it. If anyone in the Atlanta area needs a good tint guy, hit me up.

POST 6Original post

show me pictures please.. i bet it looks damn nice!!

POST 7Original post

Yeah, those black dots are a real 'defect'. Have you never had any windows tinted before? The black dots are an issue on every car. Yes, in some cases after a few days or a week, you can press the tint down and it may adhere around the dots. If it's that big of a deal, find a tinter who will sand the dots down.

POST 8Original post

I'll keep you in mind in case I want to head down there for the CS from Jim Ellis'.

POST 9Original post

i noticed the same thing with the dots after tinting. My tinter told me to wait a week and after it had been in the sun a while (while there was some heat on the windows) to take my finger and run it over the areas where the dots were. apparantly the heat helps. anyway i did it and the film stuck to the areas nicely. I'm not certain, but it may depend on the film type used as to how well it adheres to these areas.

POST 10Original post

The film is sticking a little better now. It's only been two days and the temps have gotten cold as hell up here in MI. Still a little air around th dots themselves, but you really need to look close. She sure looks perty....
