I'm sure we all do it - when we have decided to let go of a car we have really bonded with - one last good run on favoured roads is a way of ending on a high.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
25 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.
0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

So here is mine with my PnJ.
Day One: Glasgow to Reims - just under 700 miles of motorway but shows such a capable mile eater a 911 can be.
Day Two: When in Reims the Old GP Pits is a must.
Then down through France into Switzerland without touching the motorways - some fun country roads.
Day Three: Montreux to Monaco via Martigny Chamonix and Route de Napoleon
Pay respect to Freddie at breakfast
Weather looks great so off into the Alps
Route de Napoleon deserves its reputation as a great driving road
Day Four: Monaco GP Qualy
Bad day for Massa - the walk of shame - and recovery too
Porsche Cup race tomorrow morning so will try and get some snaps.....

You will regret it, unless you doing a major upgrade?
Nice pics, my other half is there tomorrow
That is a real fear mate...I know you missed yours.
I'll miss the noise most of all!
Day Seven: The Ultimate Driving Day
If I'm honest the entire 3000+ mile trip is based on doing this day - I had a series of passes I had either enjoyed before or had missed out on because they were closed.
In order of the planned route:
Stelvio
Fuorn
Offenpass
Fleula
San Bernardino
Spugel
Today was my lucky day - passed through Bormio saying Stelvio was open. Got to the police stop and managed to convince the nice man that I would take it easy and as the car was AWD I would not get stuck - off I went.
There were only about another 3 cars on the pass the whole way - one Gallardo with a UK reg going the opposite way.
The top was full of cyclists but no cars moving so I pressed on all the way down into Switzerland side with the snow plough and gritter being the only traffic.
On reaching the other side the pass had now been closed to all traffic - hence the quiet run...............bargain.
Some pics later!
Up from Bormio
Down to Trafoi
Down safe
Fuorn
Offenpass
Fluela - bit of a white out at the top!
Starting for home tomorrow - but happy that I have done what I came to do.

Great pictures. Really helps capture the essence of the trip, particularly as your C4S looks almost identical to mine so thanks for sharing .. I did a similar drive in my Boxster a few years back when invited to a wedding in Aix en Provence. Similar time of year as well, however the Stelvio was still closed so missed out on that one.
Had always planned to repeat the Alpine experience in the 911 but despite a few shorter French trips in it, I never got the time. Looks like I'll also be selling mine in the next few weeks to fund my new car purchase, so it is likely to stay that way. I must say though that I've managed some really great trips around Wales and England which will always be memorable.
Hopefully both my new car and yours will give us some more great experiences! Interested to know what are you changing it for?

I had a bet with my little boy over the Lemans result - sadly the inability of Porsche to finish sees me move to Audi for a while.
Hence the change in username!!!
Haha!! Only just noticed that.
Fair play it could have been worse, you may have been driving a Corolla had Toyota won. Let's hope Porsche do better next year.
I'm staying loyal to the brand, hopefully picking up a 997tt later this week.. Can't wait.
Enjoy.

Hope you know what you're doing, 9964S is a mighty act to follow and extra speed and grip of the TTRS might prove to be a novelty in comparison! One day I plan to add a 64S to my collection if I ever have the space as driving my mates one regularly tells me they are one of the best 911s and a future classic. Amazing pics and great write up though, good luck!
P.S. I guess my username means I am biased!
